A Journey Through Story and Song

Wayfaring Stranger, Olivia the Bard’s breakout show, is an exploration of belonging. It weaves the story of P. Charming, a baby bird found nearly dead on Olivia’s birthday, with a set of original songs. The program is designed around a ritual structure meant to plant and nurture seeds of self love and communal bonding. It is an intimate experience that gently invites audience participation and interaction. Audiences leave smiling and laughing, having shed a tear, they feel more at home in their bodies and in the world.

The Magic of a House Concert

Olivia The Bard holds three primary values for her shows: Intimacy, Simplicity and Mutual Aid.  Her performance consists of herself and her two banjos: Liza Jane and Miracle Bae. Olivia loves to play un-amplified and while she will happily consider any venue and does play theaters and clubs, Olivia loves House Concerts the most. She has found that 20-30 people is an ideal audience size for this show and they fit in comfortably in a lot of living rooms, patios and personal studios. A house concert can be designed around the inspiration of the host with a goal of mutual aid. Olivia’s preferred payment situation is donation based.  In a home, guests of the hosts are welcomed to contribute what they are inspired to share. Furthermore, It is possible to have a second donation basket for a cause that is important to the host. The intimacy and novelty of a concert in the home really draws people to attend in a way that public shows often don't. Finally, The features of a House concert are limited only by our imagination and Olivia loves to dream these events along side the host.  What magic are you calling into your home and community? Olivia The Bard would like to help make it manifest.

Olivia found a baby bird on her daily walk by the river on her fourty-somethingth birthday. It was nearly dead. She was widely counseled to give it to a vet or a sanctuary but she took it upon herself to care for the tiny creature.
