The Unashamed Aging Author

Facing reality: I'm not getting any younger. When I was a kid, growing up couldn't happen fast enough. But as the years passed, I started looking for ways to slow down the bus. I discovered a few years back that yanking on the cord or repeatedly pushing the stop button was an exercise in futility. So, why bother? Why not make these the best years of my life?!

Sounds like a plan. Writing is a big part of living my best years. One of the hardest parts so far, has been calling myself an author. I recently had my first book published, but still suffer from a mild case of imposter syndrome. Hopefully as I complete more novels, that will wear off.

Who do I write for? Many years of teaching public school kids and raising two of my own has led me to write about young people. My goal as an author is to amplify their unique voices and connect with an audience of both young and old.

Now, about this blogletter...My monthly blogletter unashamedly shares my experience of finding purpose as I continue to age. I hope that what I share is both relatable and beneficial. As a little bonus, I also plan to introduce you to novels from fellow authors that might interest you.

Enjoy!
