Monte finds himself waking up alone in an unknown location in the woods..  He doesn’t know how he got there, he is injured, and he is hungry. Monte embarks on a treacherous journey to find out what happened to himself as well as rescue his family.

Through his travels he learns more about this debilitated world through the perspective of the hungry and he has to navigate through horrifying sections of this dystopian society he didn’t know existed.
