A weekly letter from Kate, founder of My Messy Play – because parenting isn’t tidy.
Hi, I’m Kate – mum of three, former corporate world girl, and the founder of My Messy Play.
I started this journey in the middle of my own mess – battling postnatal depression after my second baby, just trying to find moments of connection and calm. Messy play became more than a way to keep my little ones busy. It became a lifeline. A creative outlet. A quiet rebellion against the pressure to "have it all together.
Now, every Friday, I write a little letter to the community of mums who get it.
It’s real stories from my life, relatable reflections, and creative ideas to help your little ones learn, play, and process the world – while you get a moment to breathe.
Every Friday, you’ll get:
🍵 Real-life bits (no sugar-coating here) – the joys, meltdowns & everything in between
🎨 A totally do-able messy play idea – that won’t wreck your house… too much
🤣 A dollop of relatable mum-life chaos – because we're all winging it, if we're really honest!
🧠 A quick fact on why messy play is amazing for your child’s development
💛 And maybe… your next rainy-day lifesaver
It’s free. It’s honest. And it’s written with love
(and probably a bit of oobleck on my jumper).
If you believe in creative learning, connection, and supporting one another through the early years and beyond – come join the mess.
