Student Testimonials

I really love DARE TO DREAM because it's just a huge opportunity for women our age to hear speakers… and what they say, it's really relatable and inspiring, and I think it just brings the girls together.

- Desiree, Year 11

I think DARE TO DREAM is important because it provides a platform for young women like ourselves to learn from other women about what it's like going into the corporate world. We're also learning from people who have had so much experience in providing their own outlook on the world and making their own mark.

- Naira, Year 11

I really think these dead dream events are important especially for like this age group of year 10 and 11 where we're going into senior school and starting to think about what we want to do, and how we want to position ourselves in the real world.

- Ella, Year 11

Staff Testimonials

DARE TO DREAM has been an invaluable addition to our Year 11 and 12 programs, significantly enhancing - not replacing - our existing pastoral care. It equips students with the confidence and tools to set ambitious goals and navigate challenges, giving the students a distinct advantage in preparing for a future filled with purpose and possibility. In the weeks after the program, we have seen a noticeable increase in students' mental wellbeing, focus, and excitement for their futures. I highly recommend D2D for schools looking to elevate their support for students during this pivotal time.

About us

Why we’re different

The world our young people navigate is fast-paced, demanding, and often overwhelming. DARE TO DREAM offers a supportive and innovative space where students can engage in meaningful conversations about what truly matters to them. With the combined expertise of Dr Katherine, keynote speaker, and Kylie, an educator with nearly two decades of experience, the young women will be guided through thought-provoking activities and reflections that foster deep thinking and insightful dialogue.

Kylie Wharton

Founder, DARE TO DREAM

Kylie earned a Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Education in English from Griffith University, graduating in 2005. She is now the Director of English at Lindisfarne Anglican Grammar School, where she has spent nearly 20 years dedicated to inspiring a love for literature and honing students' language skills. Kylie leads a dynamic team of educators, championing innovative teaching strategies and a commitment to academic excellence. Her approach emphasises creating an engaging and inclusive learning environment that nurtures critical thinking, creativity, and a lifelong passion for reading and writing.

She is also the visionary founder behind DARE TO DREAM, a program she founded in 2017 as an extension of her role as Director of English at Lindisfarne Anglican Grammar School. With nearly 20 years of experience in education, Kylie recognised a pressing need for programs that go beyond academics, offering young women the tools and inspiration to think boldly and act with purpose during the pivotal years of Year 11 and 12. Driven by a commitment to student well-being and her deep understanding of the challenges young people face, Kylie created Dare to Dream to fill this gap.

Dr Katherine Iscoe

Co-Founder, DARE TO DREAM

Dr Katherine Iscoe is a keynote speaker, author, board member, former CEO of a dual-listed public company, academic mentor and summa cum laude graduate with multiple scholarships and awards.

Despite these notable achievements and perceived public success, Katherine’s mental health was teetering on collapse; she endured a debilitating eating disorder for over a decade, and persevered through severe depression and thoughts of suicide that began at just 15 years old. What she later figured out is that at the heart of her struggle for inner peace was not a lack of confidence, but rather a lack of self-respect.

It is these deeply personal challenges that fuel her passion to help young women develop resilience and equip them with the tools and inspiration to make healthier choices for their futures—sparing them years, or even decades, of self-loathing. After being a part of the DARE TO DREAM program, she recognized its transformative potential and knew it had to be taken global. This led her to partner with Kylie, the program's original founder, to expand its reach and empower young women around the world to embrace their aspirations and navigate their unique challenges with confidence and purpose.

Alongside her professional escapades, Dr Katherine is a dog-obsessed, murder-documentary loving nerd, who uses sewing as therapy and shoes as her healthy addiction. More recently, Katherine has challenged herself to enrol in acting classes (which satisfies her inner diva tremendously) as her dream one day is to play the role of a therapist in a Hollywood movie.
