You get a bit twitchy when you watch a movie. You have always wanted to strut your stuff, but how? This class gets you up and acting like you have always wanted to. No experience required just the raw power of the beginner

What makes me the right fit to teach
A real quick run down on who James Pratt is. It’s weird writing about myself in the 3rd person. I have a Post Graduate Diploma in Drama and an Honours degree in Creative Arts. I trained 2 years at a physical theatre school in Melb. I co-foundered two independent theatre companies and wrote, directed and performed on stage with these companies for 25 years. Touring through out Australia, NZ and to the UK.
I have performed on TV and radio. I have recently appeared in several TVC’s.
I have taught performance and acting for over 10 years at Deakin University and Federation Uni, I have run character workshops for the Malthouse Theatre education program. I have worked at the Victorian College of the Arts Secondary School.
I love designing and facilitating learning experiences. It has to fun, it has to be exciting and yes at times a little challenging but it has to…well be like mucking around that’s when the real learning happens.

Cost? Ok so when you book you book for the full 8 weeks or 7 weeks if your doing the adult beginners.
An 8 week block is $240 which is $30 for a 2 hour class
A.7 week block is $210 which is $30 for 90mins.
Quick note: When you book and pay for a block you are kind of like renting your space in the class. It’s your space always there for you. I can’t and won’t fill that space if you can’t be there so if you miss classes you still pay the rent. However there are always exceptions and wiggle room. Above all this I want you to have a great experience, that includes on the floor, in class, with the cost, with whatever is happening.

We will have a chat and work something out. You know I got overheads and all that stuff but I want you to be happy and feel good. I won’t be a full refund but it will be a win win that’s important to me.
Refund for that missed class and the coach is fired…ok maybe giving a stern talking too.
Comfortable clothes that you can move around in. There will be a few exercises where you will move around a bit.
Firstly totally understandable. Secondly come it will work out, you will learn some amazing things about yourself. let me know, no shame in nerves. I have masses of experience with nerves and great exercises that help. In all my classes you always do what you are capable of doing, that’s important. It’s your space as well and you are paying me.
Often I will give you some scripts so bring them. A water bottle and that’s it.
