Are you passionate about floral patterns and eager to explore the beauty of flowers from around the globe? Join me + lots of fellow surface pattern designers and artists in the 6th edition of this floral pattern design challenge.
What is this Challenge about?
It's a floral pattern design challenge.
Each day of the month of September, there will be a flower assigned so you can create some artwork with that particular flower in your unique style. It's for the fun of creating, getting inspired and discover new talented artists!
Creativity:
This challenge will spark your creativity and inspire you to create new artwork because you know exactly what to create next.
Have you heard of a new technique that you'd like to try? Maybe you recently
learned a new way to create patterns that you want to explore?
This is the perfect opportunity!
Purpose:
You can either create for the fun of creating something new, or you can create new floral designs with the goal of expanding your current portfolio.
Avoid the overwhelming "blank paper syndrome" by having a set list of flowers to help you know what to create next.
Remember: Flowers are always IN!
Community:
The challenge is open to surface pattern designers and artists from all over the world, so it's great to meet new fellow designers.
And it works both ways! You'll get new eyes on your designs, too.
Seeing how each designer plays with the prompt in their own unique style is truly inspiring.

The Host of the Challenge
Lucia Sanguinetti-Jonescheit, owner of Deinki Studio, is an accomplished fashion and surface pattern designer based in Germany.
With over 15 years of experience in the fashion and textile industry, she licenses and sells her patterns worldwide and works as a remote freelance designer for various clients, brands and textile studios.
By hosting this design challenge, she combines two of her greatest passions: meeting people from all over the world & creating beautiful patterns.
The #30FlowersInMyStyle Floral Pattern Design Challenge is a creative challenge where participants draw and create patterns inspired by 30 unique flowers from different parts of the world. It’s a chance to explore new floral motifs, expand your portfolio, and connect with a community of like-minded designers.
Absolutely! This challenge is open to artists and designers of all skill levels. Whether you're just starting or have years of experience, you'll find inspiration and growth through this challenge.
You can use any medium you prefer, whether it’s digital tools like Adobe Illustrator and Procreate, or traditional materials like watercolors and pens. The choice is yours!
We understand that creating 30 patterns in 30 days can be challenging. That's why we recommend starting early. This way, you can pace yourself and create high-quality work without feeling rushed.
