There's a whole community of people who just 'get it' and we're bringing them all together to support you to start and grow your business around the hospital appointments, and sick days, and IEP meetings and sleepless nights and everything in between.
The Learning Hub is something quite unique!
Think... expert business advice & support, accountability, and mindset development, all with a community of people who actually get the real-life challenges of striving to earn enough to create the life you want, while juggling all the hurdles of raising a child/ children with complex or additional needs.
We prioritise practicality when it comes to your business strategy and we'll also be there with the tissues when you need softer support with all the plates you're spinning.
Launching soon, the Business Learning Hub is a new community created especially for women parent carers who want to start or grow a business so that they can continue to earn, use their professional skills and maintain their sense of identity, even when things at home get a little chaotic. Here's what inside:
Our Monthly Coffee Mornings - They're all about collaborations & light bulb moments!
'The gold is in the nuggets' .... OK I totally made that quote up, but what I mean is this: sometimes all it takes to transform your business growth is a little nugget of information, a hint or tip or little piece of advice that changes everything. Our monthly coffee mornings actively promote peer to peer learning as well as opening the door to collaborations that will support you to diversify your income streams, build your audience and create a sustainable business model.
Our Resource Library - Advice & guides at your fingertips when you need them!
The library will grow with us and it'll become your treasure trove of catch-up videos, digital downloads, business guides and much more. It'll be a carefully curated collection of our own guides to support you to build your business knowledge & skills, member created content and all of our 'Let's talk Business' session recordings. Even if you're not able to attend sessions and group events live, you'll never miss the learnings and support.
Monthly 'Let's Talk Business' Classes - You can't grow a business if you don't know how!
We get that you're awesome at what you do, but that running a business might be completely brand new to you and we know you don't have oodles of time. So we'll teach a new business topic every month - everything from strategy to marketing, We place a high value on simplicity, so all of our sessions focus on helping you to maximise your time and minimise overwhelm, while developing a business strategy that earns an income.
The Community - It's where the magic happens!
We're all about helping women parent carers to start and grow a business so that they can continue to use their skills, create financial independence and support their family's needs. So, our community is a blend of peer to peer business support and understanding of the real challenges of working while caring. It's an inclusive, understanding, supportive, and safe space where you can ask a business question one day and ask for support with specific caring challenges the next. We change the world when women build each other up, and in here is where we'll help you change your world.
Empathy, practicality, expert guidance, bite-size support...
These are just some of the things that set the Carer Mums in Business Learning Hub apart from other business communities.
We get what it's like to live in the wilderness that is working and caring for a child with additional needs. We know your time is precious. We know you can't do all the things. We know that your 24-hours are not typical. We feel the emotional toll and we understand the need for balance, self-care and a business strategy that works around your life.
Carer Mums in Business is developing the Business Learning Hub especially for women parent carers juggling the care of children with needs, with ambitions to grow a business to support their family. It's a move away from the norm when it comes to support for carers. We don't talk about benefits and Carers Allowance, we talk about creating businesses with income streams that enable us to build financial independence.
We know that you're under time pressure. That you're researching your child's condition in between your market research. That hospital visits take precedence over networking. That you want to learn how to grow a successful business, but you don't have the time to do extensive programmes and courses.
We know that you need real, practical support to develop your business ideas while also having a listening ear from other women who know how it feels to walk in your shoes.
Come sit with us in the Business Learning Hub if:
- You're starting or have started a business as a means to earn a living while caring for a child with complex or additional needs.
- You want to belong to a community of like-minded, ambitious & growth oriented women who know the struggle well.

Sound good?
Hey you! I'm Claire, and just like you, I'm playing this juggling game if caring for a children with additional needs while also building a business that gives me the income i need to give my kids the life I want to give them.
First & foremost I am Mum to Luke & Coen. Luke has Duchenne muscular dystrophy, a rare, progressive & life shortening muscle wasting condition. He also lives with autism, Dyslexia & Dyscalculia. Coen has recently been diagnosed with DCD/ Dyspraxia and that's been a big learning curve. Our lives are kind of crazy but I wouldn't have it any other way.
On top of that I'm a qualified and experienced business mentor & training and have been supporting entrepreneurs to start up and grow for 17 years, so business wise, I've seen it all. My key areas, the things i could talk about all day are ideas generation, message development and communications.
In 2018, when my boys were just 5 & 7 and when we were in the early months of Luke's clinical trial that involved weekly trips to England from Northern Ireland (we still have these weekly appointments but they're at home now), my Mum sadly passed away just 6 days after a shock cancer diagnosis. With her passing, I lost my whole support network and staying in the 9-5 became almost impossible with the level of appointments we had. So in October 2019, while in burn-out, I took the decision to go out on my own and I honestly haven't looked back since.
Self-employment has not been an easy road, but it has enabled me to work, to keep using my skills, to feel like I belonged somewhere and to earn an income while working around the needs of my boys. I only wonder now why I didn't do it sooner.
So, I know what it's like to be you. I know what it's like to feel isolated, to feel stuck by circumstances, to carry a massive emotional weight into work. I know what's it's like to start a business with no idea if it will work but it's either that or benefits. I know the challenges you face but I also know that you value joy, peace, calmness and living life to the full because tomorrow isn't promised. That's why you can trust me to have your back.
