I’ve lived with chronic pain since I was 23 but avoided medical care for years because I didn’t understand how to use my insurance and feared the costs.
At 33, after my dad’s sudden passing, I faced my fears. I needed to understand the state of my health to find peace of mind after facing my own mortality through my father's death. So I dug in, learned to navigate insurance, and took charge of my health.
