What if I've never read a challenging English novel before?
That's exactly why we have the two-week warm-up period! The free stories will help you build the analytical skills you need, and you can choose the graded reader level which maintains all of 1984's power while using more accessible language.
Plus, with 2 private chats per week, I'll provide personalised support to help you succeed. Many of my most successful students started exactly where you are now.
How much time will I need to dedicate each week?
Plan for 3-4 hours per week: about 2-3 hours reading (depending on your pace and chosen level), plus 30-45 minutes total for our private chats and group discussion.
The beauty of the program is that it's intensive but manageable - we break everything into digestible weekly chunks so you're never overwhelmed.
What's the difference between the graded reader and full novel options?
The graded reader uses simplified vocabulary and sentence structures while preserving 100% of the plot, characters, and themes - it's perfect for intermediate learners who want to focus on comprehension and analysis.
The full novel is Orwell's original text with all its complex language and literary devices - ideal for advanced learners ready to push their boundaries.
Both levels get the same support and discussion opportunities.
What happens if I fall behind or need to miss a week?
Life happens! That's why we use Telegram for flexible private chats - we can reschedule around your availability. If you fall behind on reading, we'll create a catch-up plan in your private sessions.
The group discussions are also ongoing, so you can participate when you're ready.
