Does birth feel scary right now?

Maybe you're scared about the pain.

Maybe you don't know what to expect.

Maybe you're confused about your options.

Maybe this is your first baby and everything feels unknown.

Maybe you've already been through a birth that left you feeling alone, unheard and unsupported.

Maybe you've heard of a doula but you're not really sure what that means.

I get it. I've been where you are, and you don't have to walk through this alone.

I'm Kailee. A Melbourne based doula, a mum of two, and someone who came into this work because my first birth experience left me feeling like surely birth can be better than this.

This isn't just something I've learned, it's something I've lived.

Why I do this work

After the birth of my daughter, I remember feeling like it could have been different.

Not perfect, but better.

More supported.

That stayed with me.

It’s a big part of why I became a doula.

My second birth was one of the most profound and healing experiences of my life.

Now I support other women through pregnancy, birth, and postpartum with both my training and my lived experience.

I’m not coming into this from the outside.

I know what it feels like to be in it.

And I care deeply about women feeling seen, respected, and supported in one of the biggest experiences of their lives.

If you've had a previous birth that didn't feel ok

I want to say this gently.

If your last birth left you feeling scared, disconnected, or like things happened to you instead of with you, that matters.

You don't need to brush it off.

And you don't need to force yourself into being positive this time.

We can actually look at it together.

We can unpack what happened.

We can talk about what you need this time.

We can prepare in a way that feels more grounded and supportive for you.

A different experience doesn't come from pretending the last one didn't affect you.

It comes from being supported properly this time.

What I actually do as a doula

A lot of women come to me not really knowing what a doula does.

To put it simply:

I'm there to support you.

Not to take over. Not to replace your partner, or your care team.

But to make sure you feel held, informed, and not alone.

That can look like:

Talking through your fears so they don't feel so overwhelming.

Helping you understand your options so things feel clearer.

Supporting your partner so they feel more confident.

Being a calm, steady presence during labour.

Helping you stay grounded when things feel intense.

Making sure your voice doesn't get lost in the room.

How I can support you

You don’t have to commit to everything all at once.

I offer support across different stages, depending on what you need.

During pregnancy, we can focus on preparation, education, and working through any fears or questions that are coming up.

During birth, I’m there with you. Supporting you physically, emotionally, and helping you stay grounded.

After your baby arrives, I offer postpartum and breastfeeding support, and space to talk through your birth if you need it.

You don’t have to figure it all out on your own.

Imagine going into birth feeling more steady.

Not because all the fear disappears,

But because now you understand your options.

Now you’ve had the conversations.

Now someone knows your story.

Now your partner feels more prepared.

Now there’s someone in your corner who is there just for you.

That changes how birth feels.

You don’t have to do this alone.

If you’re feeling unsure, scared, or just wanting more support around your birth, you’re so welcome to reach out.

I offer a free, no obligation chat so we can talk about where you’re at and what kind of support would actually help you.

Frequently asked questions

Not at all. I support both of you so your partner feels more confident and involved.

That’s completely okay. A chat can help you understand what support could look like and whether it feels right for you.

Absolutely, I attend birth wherever feels right for you.

You’re not alone in that. We can talk through it and prepare in a way that feels more supportive for you this time.

Yes. I support you after birth as well, including recovery, feeding support, and debriefing your experience if needed.
