Flare-up days can really pack a punch, causing not just physical discomfort but also a great deal of anxiety and stress. We know that life's responsibilities, from work to family, don't magically disappear just because we're not feeling our best. And what's more, we often find ourselves uncertain about how long these episodes will last.
It's a challenging balancing act, isn't it?
On one hand, it's crucial to keep moving, even on flare-up days, to maintain our flexibility and strength. But on the other hand, self-care becomes equally essential. Speaking from my own experience, I've found that calming the mind is key to finding relaxation, especially when pain and discomfort are part of the picture.
That's why, during one of my particularly tough flare-ups, I created this Gentle Audio. It's not just a resource; it's a lifeline to help you find moments of peace and relief, even amidst the storm. All you need to do is get comfortable and listen to the sound of my voice. Together, let's navigate the journey to better well-being, one mindful step at a time.
Hey there, I'm Rachel, and just like you, I'm an arthritis warrior and a I am also a yoga and mindfulness instructor. I've been on this journey since I was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis at the young age of 20. Life was pretty tough back then - limited mobility, constant inflammation, and battling chronic fatigue. What should have been the beginning of my adult life, it soon became a life stuck indoors, unable to work and unable to function like a 20 year old should. I felt stuck.
But thanks to a friendly neighbour who suggested something that changed the course of my life – Gentle Hatha Yoga. It was tricky at first as I was trying to follow DVDs and books, but the little movement I was able to do was making a difference, to the way I felt and the way I was able to move more freely again. Yoga was a turning point, and I haven't looked back since.
Yoga and meditation transformed my life in ways I couldn't have imagined. In fact, it had such a profound impact on me that I decided to become an instructor myself.
Now, I'm incredibly passionate about paying it forward. I want to help others like us discover the freedom of movement and provide support and tools to lead a more fulfilling life, even with arthritis.
Together, we can make every day a little brighter and more comfortable. Let's embark on this journey of healing and growth together.
