Calling all helpers, healers and values-led change makers

Regulation as Resistance:

Tending the Nervous System for Sustainable Social Justice Work

A 60-minute somatic workshop for social justice leaders, changemakers and healers ready to move from a space of overwhelm and reactivity to a space where you can tap into your inner resources for an embodied and centred response.

This is a free offering via zoom in UK time zone.

In the face of global crises and systemic oppression, tending to our own inner system is crucial for having the capacity to be alongside the people you serve with care, compassion and integrity.

Welcome into a space of recognition, a place to witness how your body holds both the weight of the world and the wisdom to transform it, individually and collectively.

This immersive experience explores how tending to your nervous system transforms reactive responses into resourced action, empowering you to create change without burning out.Together, we’ll discover the power of co-regulation, how being witnessed and held in community transforms not just our own nervous systems, but our collective capacity for social justice and social change work.

Regulation does not mean being calm all the time!! It’s about having the capacity to be adaptable to uncertain and challenging situations, the flexibility to respond with intention and the resilience to acknowledge and be with strong emotions.

Through gentle somatic practices, body and breath awareness and collective inquiry we consider:

How do survival patterns shape my capacity for impact?

What stories live in my body about change, urgency and rest?

How can regulation become a radical act of resistance?

Holding Your Capacity

Together, we'll explore frameworks and tools that include:

  • Recognition of nervous system states and their impact on social justice work

  • Gentle somatic practices for regulation under pressure

  •  Skills to shift survival patterns without bypassing the urgency of change

  •  How personal trauma stories inform responses to systemic oppression

  • Practical tools for becoming a nervous system resource in your community

  • The power of co-regulation in collective healing and action

This is for you if:

-You chose your profession to make a difference. Whether you're a healthcare worker, coach, social worker, educator, therapist, or community organiser- your work is service and justice.

-You've felt the weight of these times in your body. The grief, rage, or despair- and you want simple tools to stay present without collapsing.

-You're running on empty. Your body is saying no while the urgency to create change keeps pushing you forward. You're exhausted, drained, caught between impact and depletion.

-You're committed to meaningful change and want to break cycles of oppression while feeling resourced, present and motivated.

-You know the reality of working within limiting systems - the tension of endless deadlines, exhaustion that rest doesn't touch, overwhelm when client needs feel infinite.

-You long to feel held, supported and powerful as you show up for change.

In this nurturing space, you'll discover:

  • How nervous system states create stories that either limit or expand your collective capacity for impact

  • Skills to recognise and shift survival patterns without bypassing or burning out in the name of change

  • How personal stories inform your body's response to current work pressures

  • Guided somatic practices to stay regulated while navigating impossible choices and systemic traps

  • Gentle somatic tools for maintaining regulation - using gentle body based practices and body and breath awareness these tools can be used when feeling under pressure to support you to recognise and move through patterns that feel stuck

  • Practical skills for becoming a nervous system resource that strengthens your clients', organisation's or community's collective capacity

  • A felt sense of collective support, you don't have to carry it all alone

You long to feel held, supported and powerful as you show up for change.

ABOUT YOUR FACILITATOR

Hi, I'm Eloise

I'm a certified somatic coach, trauma-informed facilitator and registered social worker who's worked in direct social work practice and leadership for 25 years across the health and social care sectors.

I'm now a coach, consultant and trainer working with social justice practitioners, leaders and organisations supporting them to strengthen their capacity to bear witness to the impact of oppressive systems, to be alongside those they serve with compassion and integrity and to contribute to making a difference in the world, one step at a time.

My approach weaves together relationship-based approaches, anti-oppression frameworks, trauma-informed approaches, polyvagal theory and internal family systems to support individuals, groups and organisations to feel held while holding others.

Come join us in this space of reclamation

You don't have to burn out to make change in the world.
