Well, Hello! It's great to see you here.
Both Paula Charles and Janna Rollins are my pen names. Using a pen name was a decision I made because my last name is ridiculously hard to pronounce and because I wanted to honor my mom, who always dreamed of being an author. Her first name was Janice, so I shortened it to Janna and used a variation of my grandfather's first name, Rolin, mashed the two together and came up with Janna Rollins. When I signed contracts with two different publishers, they wanted separation, so Paula Charles was born. Charles was my paternal grandfather's first name. And that's probably more information than you cared to know!
Anyway, I've spent much of my life reading and writing under the towering trees of the Pacific Northwest. I have a love for pie, small towns, family history, and the possibility of ghosts.
When I'm not reading or writing, I can usually be found in the kitchen, baking up a sweet treat. I live on a small farm in southwestern Washington with my patient husband and a plethora of furry and feathered creatures.
My debut cozy mystery from Crooked Lane Books. The one where a sassy widowed hardware store owner talks to ghosts while trying to solve the mystery of who killed a land developer inside her store.
