How to have the best tech editing experience

So, you've got your pattern written, you've put your heart and soul into it, spent weeks or even months thinking about it, and now it's almost time to release it into the world.

You've thought about having it tech edited, but isn't that expensive? Of course, the cost will depend on the complexity of the pattern, but my handy guide will help you to get the best value out of the editing process, saving both you and your editor time (and you money).

Having your pattern edited will mean it is the absolute best it can be, ensuring your customers will be happy (and come back for more!) and you will build a reputation for writing fabulous patterns. Isn't that what we all want?

I'll give you tips and inside knowledge that will help you prepare your pattern for being edited and save you money. Think of it a bit like taking your car for it's MoT-you check the screenwash and oil and fill them up yourself if needed because it costs way less for you to do it than if you have to pay the garage!

My checklist will give you some simple checks you can do so that you aren't paying me to do them, leaving me to focus on the numbers and everything else needed to polish your pattern to perfection. It will also help you get value for money-being a mum of two myself, I know I'm always looking for ways to achieve that!

My guide also contains other handy hints to help the editing process run smoothly-because the quicker it's done the sooner you can start selling your pattern!

All of the tips you can find here have been written for you from my experience as both a tech editor and a designer, so I know you'll find them useful.
