Life is an experience, taste it!
Here's 4 Simple Techniques
Reduce Stress, Depression, and Anxiety
This has been tumultuous and stressful. I genuinely hope that the positive events outweigh the negative ones. Personally, I've found a few methods to improve my day-to-day activities. I hope you find one or two that make things a little easier to cope with.
It is important to take regular breaks while working to prevent stress and tension buildup. As someone who works from home, I have found that working continuously without taking breaks can have negative effects. To avoid this, it is recommended to take at least a 15-minute break in the morning and one in the afternoon, as well as a 20-minute lunch break. If possible, it is also advisable to eat lunch away from your workstation. Additionally, if you are dealing with a lot of stress in your personal life, taking a day or weekend away from work can be beneficial. Even just a day away from the firing line can provide some breathing space and help you gain perspective on your problems.
Engaging in regular exercise can be beneficial in alleviating stress, depression, and anxiety as it stimulates the release of endorphins in the body, providing a natural mood lift. However, it is crucial to choose the right type of exercise to ensure that it serves as a break from dwelling on problems rather than a time to ruminate. It is best to avoid exercises that allow for brooding, such as weight lifting, jogging, and treadmill workouts. Instead, it is recommended to perform exercises that demand full concentration, such as competitive sports like squash, tennis, badminton, and circuit training. It is important that you do not brood when you exercise because, it can lead to heightened mental stress, exacerbating symptoms of stress, depression, and anxiety.
Stop being harsh on yourself. Self-deprecation plays a
significant role in contributing to stress, depression,
and anxiety. Every instance of self-blame will chip away
at your confidence and self-worth. Avoid labeling yourself
as useless, worthless, stupid, hopeless, boring, ugly, or a
loser. Don't convince yourself that others detest you, find you
hard to be around, or that being alone is better for you.
You wouldn't find it acceptable to say such things to others, and
you must also consider it inappropriate to say them to yourself.
These words and phrases are potent and can inflict harm on you.
Acknowledge that you're not perfect and that you make mistakes, just
like everybody else does. Give yourself a break. Starting today, let's make
a promise to stop indulging in self-deprecation. IT IS NOT ACCEPTABLE.
For those struggling with stress, depression, or anxiety, isolation can be a significant issue. Although some may prefer solitude at times, it can lead to rumination and self-criticism that prolong negative emotions. To avoid this, it is beneficial to approach isolation in a positive manner. Engage your mind by attempting a puzzle, solving a logic problem, solving a crossword, reading a book, or indulging in a hobby such as painting or playing a musical instrument, whatever piques your interest. In this way, you can transform isolation into a growth opportunity instead of exacerbating your distress.
