Summer is the perfect time to get back into your yoga practice. The weather is warm and you want to get outside and enjoy it, with gardening, going for walks or runs, biking, swimming, golfing, and more. However before you get out there, it's important to condition your body so that you don't injure yourself. That will keep you from the things you love!

Yoga is the best way to cross train, both for physical activities and for life!

This Summer Yoga Kickoff is your opportunity to get your body ready for all the Summer activities you want to do, with classes to strengthen, stretch, work on balance, and center your mind. Join Janine at Purple Room Yoga Monday, Wednesday, and Friday mornings through the month of June to get your mind and body ready for Summer!

These classes are short and easy to fit into your busy day. They are available live over Zoom or on demand whenever you can fit them in. You can also mix and match the live and on demand. You get to take 13 classes in total!

These classes are tailor made for the needs of active adults over 50 who want to stay active for as long as possible:

Mondays: Movement and Meditation is a weekly class that I am including in this month long event! 20 minutes of movement followed by 20 minutes of guided meditation. The best way to start off the week! If you only want to stay for the yoga, or only want to do the meditation, I invite you to do that as well.

First and Third Wednesdays: Mindful Core to build strength in all 4 abdominal muscles, pelvic floor, spinal muscles, glutes, inner thighs and hip flexors. Build core stability to improve back pain, have better balance, and experience less "leakage."

Second and Fourth Wednesdays: Sun Salutations, both traditional and non-traditional, to move, flow, stretch, and breathe. Connect your breath with your movement in this moving meditation.

First and Third Fridays: Head to Toe Stretch to stretch "all the parts" in a functional way. Move and stretch with gentle, intentional movement to improve your mobility. Learn to let gravity do the work for you to find more ease in your muscles and joints.

Second and Fourth Fridays: Cultivate functional Strength and Balance through yoga poses! Build core, upper, and lower body strength, and use that strength to improve your balance. It's never too late to build better balance!

Who am I?

Hi, I'm Janine, owner of Purple Room Yoga

My online yoga studio is for active adults over 50 who want to stay active with yoga! As a 53 year old woman, I know what it's like for your body to no longer behave the way it did when you were 20. Losing strength, balance, and mobility is not something that I am eager to do, so I have continued to practice yoga for the last 30 years.

I began my yoga practice at age 23 and started teaching at 26. I am excited to share my knowledge with you through this Summer Yoga Kickoff so that you can let go of stiffness, feel more stable on your feet, and feel strong and capable in your day!

Ten 15 minute yoga classes that fit easily into your busy day, plus three meditation classes to start the week off on the right foot! Thirteen total classes that you can take live or on demand.

If you are already a Purple Room Yoga online class subscriber, these classes are included in your subscription! If you are not a subscriber and you'd like to become one, that $30 can go toward your first month! All classes will become part of Purple Room Yoga's On Demand Video Library.
