Hi! I'm Lucy. Can't wait to meet you.
I've loved to dance and perform since I was a kid. One of the things I noticed as an adult is how easy it is to lose our connection to dance. Life gets busy, we take a break... and stepping back into a studio feels overwhelming. Like we don't belong there anymore. But when I discovered 567Broadway, I realized that dance doesn't have to have any prerequisites. If you love to dance, guess what? You're a dancer. I'm committed to creating a class that feels welcoming to EVERY body. And I'd love to see you there. Have questions? Get in touch!
This was the best workout I've ever done. Literally. I left feeling like I was going to float out of the room!

I was able to jump in right away as someone totally new. It was both challenging and low-pressure at the same time."

For musical theater fans who just gotta dance, 567Broadway gets them moving
Megan Gray, Portland Press Herald, 1/3/2025
"Sullivan has a personality as bouncy and exuberant as her curls. The class was divided into two sections. In Act I, Sullivan played a handful of songs and led us in basic steps at the front of the room. We sashayed and squatted and spun. We moved to “Bend and Snap” from “Legally Blonde” and “Raise You Up/Just Be” from “Kinky Boots” and “Nowadays/Hot Honey” from “Chicago.” I definitely wasn’t getting every step the first time, but we repeated combinations enough that I could keep up.
“That beat’s going to drop,” Sullivan said as “A Brand New Day” started playing. “Who loves ‘The Wiz’? Here we go! Step, touch.” "
What would you like to know about 567Broadway?
Don't let unanswered questions stop you from trying something new. Check out the Q&A here or get in touch with any lingering questions - I'm happy to help!
What happens in a 567Broadway class?
The class is split into two parts. In Act 1, we do a series of follow-along cardio dance combinations set to musical theater songs. We take a quick "intermission" mid-class to hydrate. Then in Act 2, we work on one musical theater combination, learning it step by step and working our way up to "performance mode" by the end of class. Then we cool down. That's it!
Where are 567Broadway classes held? How much do they cost? Do I have to pre-register?
Our regular classes are held at Body Positive Dance Fitness in Portland. Drop-in classes are $18 each, with memberships and punch passes available. Pre-registration is not required, but it's a good idea to save your spot (and commit to making time to dance!). I'm exploring other locations and planning pop-up classes for 2025. Stay on the email list for updates.
Do I have to be an experienced dancer? What if I'm totally uncoordinated?
This class is for EVERY body. It's designed to be FUN - whether you're a brand-new dancer, an experienced performer, or anything in between. I welcome all levels, mobilities, and abilities. I know it can feel like I'm just saying that, and it's okay to feel anxious! But one of the things I hear most often about this class is that people felt like it was approachable, okay to make mistakes, and that their nerves melted away once the music started. That's my number 1 priority - so if there's anything else you need to know to get past the nerves and get to class, just reach out! We'll talk it through.
What should I wear?
Whatever comfortable clothes you'd wear to work out - leggings, tees and tanks are most common! On your feet wear supportive sneakers. Please bring a clean pair with you (don't wear your street shoes in) to keep our studios clean!
Do I have to come to every class?
No! This is a drop-in class. Each class is independent of the others - we don't build from week to week. So if you only make it once in a while, that's perfectly okay!
Where does "567Broadway" come from?
567Broadway is a cardio dance fitness class created by Joseph Corella, a dancer & choreographer based in L.A. I fell in love with his classes online and got certified so I can bring the joyful vibes to Maine for in-person classes.
Can you teach a 567Broadway class at...?
Maybe! If you have ideas for a new class location, a time you'd love to see, a studio that might like to add 567Broadway to their schedule - please reach out! This class is new to Maine and we're growing our community with your help - so your ideas and introductions are much appreciated!
Do you teach online classes?
I personally only teach in-person classes at this time. But you can take 567Broadway classes online from other instructors! Check out the 567Broadway website for more info.
