As a busy mum I often spent a lot of time in a constant state of overthinking with negative thoughts and got so overwhelmed with everything that needed to be done. The anxiety I experienced meant that I really struggled to sleep and this left me permanently exhausted...is this you?
Meditation and mindfulness was my first step to having a coping tool that actually helped me feel better. I started noticing I was more patient with my kids instead of screaming or shouting all the time, which I'm sure they are grateful for too, I feel much more present with them.
It's now become a non-negotiable habit that I practice every morning and I really can't do without it. Instead of starting the day, rushing around like a crazy person, I feel so much more centred and take this forward into my day. It's really helped me to get to a better place of coping with overwhelm and overthinking everything to finding some mental clarity in the day that allows me to feel more calm and equipped to get through the days and sleep better at night.
I loved listening to guided meditation to really get me out of my thinking mind and more connected with the me outside of mum. Meditation is such a powerful tool for calming the nervous system and balancing the stress hormone - think of it as medicine for the mind but without any pills.
