a brand new network
for creative freelance independents
in North-East Scotland!
Freelance Independents North East (FINE) aims to create and strengthen connections between creative freelance independent workers based in Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire.
We are thrilled to announce Founding FINE - a fully funded mini-residential led by creatives for creatives taking place over the Spring Equinox weekend 21-24th March 2025.
And we'd love to invite you to join us!
What to expect?
Over the course of the weekend we will have opportunities to engage with a thoughtfully curated programme of workshops and activities delivered by arts and cultural workers who have a connection to the north-east.
The weekend aspires to -
*** Share and celebrate our creative practices.
*** Co-create our 2025-26 action plan.
***Cultivate connections that will form the basis for our network using REST and PLAY - walk, sit around campfires, dance, sing, listen, make, move and share meals together.
Where?
The venue is Sir Arthur Grant Centre Monymusk and sleeping arrangements are mixed dormitories and bunk-beds.
The venue is wheelchair accessible and has a small number of private rooms for those with needs. Please get in touch with us regarding specific adaptations.
Why?
We've created this weekend to build the relationships that will found* this network and a community of creative freelancers in the north-east. Stronger connections between creative workers bring more opportunities for collaboration and help our creative community to thrive.
