Play Objects

Play does not require objects. So what are we to make of objects created and designed for the sole purpose of being played with? How do they serve in initiating and facilitating play? And how can we reimagine the materiality and design of objects created for play?
This group will meet through a series of guided, multi-week design sprints that invite participants to create novel design objects and experiences for play while challenging the ideological and material boundaries of designing objects for play. Design sprints are centered around a core play pattern to guide design choices and discussions about the purpose of objects for play.
