As former Chief Executives of charities, we know that senior roles can be lonely and challenging, with little time for reflection and development.
We are setting up a new leadership group for leaders in the not-for-profit and charity sector to support them on their leadership journey, and we are offering you the chance to join us.
If you're a CEO or senior leader and you're looking for a space to make new connections, explore leadership challenges and opportunities and build your peer network, our leadership group could be perfect for you.
Register your details below and we will be in touch with more information.
Leading for the Future leadership group meets four times a year. It is a space for reflection, support, dialogue and learning, surrounded by like-minded professionals, supporting you to:
The programme is aimed at Chief Executives and senior leaders working in
the public and not-for-profit sectors, who want a supportive and
confidential space to connect with other leaders and peers, who may be facing similar challenges and opportunities.
✅ 90 minute online events held three times a year
✅ A face-to-face day retreat at the end of the programme
The programme runs over the course of a year, providing regular support and connection during that period (in manageable time slots for busy Senior Leaders). The group comprises 8-10 participants, as well as Lucie and Ciara as facilitators.
We start each session with consideration of specific content on a particular leadership topic as a basis for discussion. Where appropriate, we send out some pre-reading ahead of the session. Lucie and Ciara facilitate the group so that everyone can get the most out of the sessions.
Topics can be brought by Lucie and Ciara and can also be shaped by the interests and concerns of the group. Topics from previous groups have included 'Leading through uncertainty and a time of change', 'Building resilience wisely', 'Leading across systems' and 'Leading hybrid teams'. In addition, sessions have focused on the development of 'self' as leader and values-based leadership.
Each member of the group commits to a full year with the group and attends all sessions. New members cannot join during this time.
Lucie and Ciara have both worked as Chief Executives of charities and
have a long track record in the public and not-for-profit sectors. They now
work as independent consultants, facilitators and coaches. They are both
accredited by the European Mentoring and Coaching Association (EMCC).
In addition, Ciara is a Professor of Practice in the Centre for Leadership at the University of Exeter Business School and Lucie is a Leadership Fellow there.

This programme has been adapted from a similar programme developed
and delivered by Lucie and a colleague during the pandemic when leaders
were looking for support during a time of radical change.
Previous participants of the programme say:
“I’ve really valued having the opportunity to see others having the same issues as me. It’s given me enforced space to reflect.”
“Time out for me with the opportunity to be with others, who have the same worries and concerns in a trusted space. A chance to breathe.”
“It’s helped me explore challenging issues. And it’s been good to listen to others (I’ve practiced my active listening skills!)”
