Welcome Parents
Welcome Parents to our Student Ministry! Our ministry exists to partner with you so that we can help your teenager know Jesus and experience Christian community. This newsletter is a source for you to "be in the know" about what we are doing, teaching, and planning. We also hope to give you a little encouragement/support because parenting is hard and it doesn't come with a manual.
How can my student get involved?
Sunday we invite students to worship as one community in our adult gathering and to find a place to serve. Those services happen at 9:00 am and 10:40 am. Middle schoolers have a group during the 10:40 Gathering. They meet in the Worship Center for Praise, head to group during the sermon, and return for Communion and the last songs. Pick up is in the Worship Center
Wednesday we invite students to participate in our midweek program where they can experience caring leaders, Christian community, spiritual practices (communion and prayer), and conversations. Our program is from 7:00 pm-9:00

Ways to Support Student Ministry!
Fred Meyer Community Rewards:
If you have a Fred Meyer Rewards Card you can enroll your Fred Meyer's account to be tied to our Chruch Orginatation. Then, ever time you spend money at Fred Meyers, Mountainview will receive a portion of what you spent. This is a really easy way to passively help support our Student Ministry. Here’s how it works:
• Open the Fred Meyer App
• Tap the menu icon (top left)
• Scroll to Community Rewards
• Search for “Mountainview Christian Church” (Make sure you select the one that says Gresham, Oregon)
• Select our organization to link it to your rewards card
From then on, every shopping trip automatically help support our Student Ministry!
BottleDrop:
Mountainview now has an official BottleDrop account. Just swing by the office or see Jay on a Sunday to pick up a blue bag and sticker. Once your bag is full, drop it off at any BottleDrop location, with the provided sticker attached, and you’re done! Your recycling turns directly into funds for our students.
The Mountainview Christmas Offering:
The Christmas Offering is a special gift collected each December to will go toward supporting church planting and pastoral care through Expand NW, our local ministry partners, and our ministry to the impoverished. Each year, a portion of this offering also helps fund Student Ministry Scholarships. Every summer, we take our middle school and high school students to CIYMIX (middle school) and MOVE (high school). These programs are thoughtfully crafted, spiritually rich experiences designed to help students know Jesus more deeply, form meaningful relationships, and return home ready to do Kingdom Work. The cost of these camps is significant and continues to rise, but the fruit we’ve seen year after year has shown us it’s worth the investment. Many of our students simply would not be able to attend without scholarship support. Last year, well over half of our students requested financial assistance. We are only able to provide these scholarships through the generosity of those who give to the Christmas Offering. Below you’ll find two links, one to Tithely, where you can give to the Christmas Offering, and the other to a list of students sharing their stories from camp.

What do I do if my teenager is uninterested in God or Church?
