No matter how new you are, if you want a judgment free zone to ask ANY questions about starting or running your troop, this is the place to be. I would love to meet you!
It's up to you! We can talk about anything related to starting or running a troop. In the past, we've talked about recruitment, managing finances, finding a meeting place, how to find co-leaders, what kind of activities to plan, and so much more. Literally, no question is a "dumb question" or too simple or basic. There is no shame or judgment for not knowing ANYTHING because we all start at the very beginning. And also, this is the perfect place for brainstorming, ideas, tips, or just a chance to "pick my brain."
My goal is to support new troop leaders in this space, because I think it can be really lonely and overwhelming when you're first starting out. So much of what we talk about in the Facebook group and on the podcast tends to be for people who have already figured out things like "what does this mean?" or "where are we supposed to meet?" or "where do I start?" I want to hold intentional space for those types of questions and conversations. With that being said, all volunteers are welcome and there is no gatekeeping here of what it means to be "new." Whether you are thinking about signing up as a troop leader, are within your first year, or have been around for more than 10 years, there's room for everyone.
Lol, no! This is a free resource to support and connect with other troop leaders. I genuinely want you to be successful in your troop leadership because the work you do MATTERS and it is so critical that we create and cultivate safe spaces for girls to be girls. If you are struggling, isolated, frustrated, or stressed out, then you are more likely to quit, and I want to help serve as many girls and volunteers as possible to keep that from happening. I do have a podcast (which is probably why you are here) for troop leaders called the Troop Leader Experience, a 'weekly'(ish) e-mail newsletter, and an Etsy shop with merch and digital downloads that I hope are helpful, but the point here truly is just for community and support.
