What does it mean to have connection with self?

Having a connection with oneself, often referred to as self-awareness, involves a deep and honest understanding of one's own thoughts, emotions, values, and identity. It means being attuned to your inner world, acknowledging both strengths and weaknesses, and having a genuine acceptance of who you are. Cultivating a connection with oneself involves introspection, self-reflection, and a willingness to explore personal experiences. This connection provides a foundation for personal growth, emotional well-being, and the ability to make choices aligned with one's authentic self. It's a continuous journey of self-discovery and self-acceptance that contributes to a more fulfilled and meaningful life.

3 Areas to Help Deepen your Connection with Self

Nutrition

Choose foods that make your body feel good, not just for the moment, but also for the long term.

Physical

Move your body every day.  Stretch, walk, dance, yoga, play a sport, etc.

Mental/Emotional

Be aware of what you are putting into your mind. If you listen, watch, and talk about things that help you learn and grow, your mind will be better for it.

7 Tips you can do to Stregthen your Connection with Self

  • Begin journaling... not a to do list... but free flow writing, possibly in the mornings or before bed.
  • Spend time with nature... a 10 minute walk without your phone can allow space for your mind to think new thoughts about what you truly desire or want in your life.
  • Do something creative (you don't have to be an artist).  Color, dance, sing, paint, bake, create soemthing new... allow yourself to be in a flow state... not thinking about a perfect product or taking yourself too seriously.
  • Allow yourself to feel your emotions... and get curious.  Ask yourself why you are feeling what you are feeling and then give your body time to process the feelings.
  • Follow your gut/intuition.  Your body talks to you and guides you. Spend time in silence, breathe, and listen to what your body is telling you.
  • Spend every day learning something new... whether reading something, listening to new information, or by having a conversation with someone that offers you new information.
  • Move your body every day.  Stretch, walk, jog, dance, play a sport, etc.
