I’ve never been comfortable talking about myself. I get anxious and try to deflect the conversation to another topic, as I don’t want - or like - to be the centre of attention. A similar thing happens when people congratulate me or compliment me on some achievement, I immediately downplay it and change the topic, anything to avoid that tiny slither of limelight.
I know I’m not alone.
But if I want to be taken seriously as a creator, I need to get comfortable talking about myself and embracing my wins (no matter how small). It’s a constant struggle, and I still fail more often than I succeed.
