About Luisa

My artwork emerges from my imagination.

After years of learning, practicing and pursuing the “right way” to make art, I've turned to cinema, to old masters’ works, and found photographs for inspiration.

I allow ideas and inspiration to take shape without the preoccupation with rules and expectations.

The work explores dichotomies, contrasts and opposites. I use a limited colour palette and push watercolour, gouache and water-soluble oils into alternative surfaces and expressions free from rigid methodologies.

It’s been ten years of explorations and experiments.

Agnes Martin once said it took her twenty years to paint what she wanted. It might take me longer.

I recently began exploring photography. Let's see where these two visual practices meet.

You can find the login screen for Oil Pastel Freedom, Ten Drawing Exercises and Asemic Writing here.

We know the answer to that one: AI, endless ads, false information, attention-seeking people, rotting brains, couch activism, time wasting, rampant consumerism, ten-year old make-up influencers and never-ending trends.

I could. I have techniques and exercises to get you to approach drawing and painting again. Not quite art therapy, not quite art class. Personalized mentorship. Get in touch! [email protected]
