Here’s what’s actually happening
Your nervous system isn't broken. It’s doing exactly what it designed to do under sustained pressure: it defaults to survival mode and stays there.
Survival mode is useful when you're actually in danger. The problem is when it becomes your default setting, when your system can't tell the the difference between a real threat and a long to-do list, a difficult conversation, or a screen full of notifications.
When that happens, the body does what bodies do when they think something's wrong: it holds tension, it stays alert, won't let you fully rest. Because to your nervous system, resting feels unsafe. Not dramatic-unsafe. Just... off. Like you can't take a full breath.

Introducing: The Somatic Reset
Five live online sessions. One hour each week. You'll learn how your nervous system actually works, and practice the skills that help you shift it, when needed.
Each session gives you two things: clear education that finally makes sense, and guided practices you can use right away. No fluff. No jargon. Just what works.
You don't need yoga experience. You don't need to be flexible or spiritual or "good at meditating." You just need to be curious about why your body does what it does, and willing to try something different.
The Five Sessions
Week 1: How Your Nervous System Actually Works
We start with the map. You'll learn the three states your nervous system moves through, how to recognize which one you're in right now, and why this changes everything. (Polyvagal theory, but explained practical and clear)
Week 2: Reading Your Body’s Signals
Your body is constantly talking to you. This session teaches you to listen. You’ll develop interoceptive awareness (the skill of noticing what’s happening inside) and start working with sensation rather than overriding it.
Week 3: What to Do When You're Activated
When you’re in fight-or-flight, what actually helps? We go into breath, movement, grounding techniques that bring your system in balance. Not to stop feeling, but to give your body a way out of the loop. You’ll practice several and find what works for your system.
Week 4: What to Do When You're Shut Down
Sometimes the nervous system doesn’t spike, it collapses. Numbness, flatness, disconnection, low motivation. This session addresses that other face of survival mode and the practices that bring you back.
Week 5: Building Your Own Practice
We put it all together. You’ll leave with a clear, realistic understanding of your own nervous system patterns and a set of practices that fit your real life. Not a perfect routine you'll never stick to, but something you can genuinely integrate and use.

About your teacher
I'm Mari, and I came to this work the hard way, through my own body.
For years, I lived in a state I didn't have a name for yet: constantly braced, always alert, never quite able to relax. I had chronic tension, recurring health issues that doctors couldn't explain, and an overactive nervous system that treated every stressful email like a crisis. I was formally healthy. I was also exhausted.
Yoga gave me my first experience of actually being able to shift my state, not through willpower, but through practice. That sent me down a years-long research rabbit hole: polyvagal theory, the autonomic nervous system, somatic regulation, the science behind why certain practices work when others don't. I needed to understand why my body was doing what it was doing. Once I did, everything changed.
I've been teaching since 2023, after completing my 200-hour yoga teacher training. My focus from the beginning has been nervous system regulation — because that's what changed my own life, and it's what I see my students need most. I work with people who've tried the meditation apps and the deep breathing and the self-care routines, and still can't quite get their system to settle. People who are tired of being told to relax without being told how.
What I bring to this program is both the science (years of independent study in polyvagal theory, somatic practices, and nervous system regulation) and the lived experience of what it's like to feel stuck in survival mode and find a way out.
This is not therapy, and I'm not a therapist. This program is education and skill-building, the kind I wish I'd had access to ten years ago.

The weekly sessions are 75 minutes each. Between sessions, I recommend 10–15 minutes of practice per day, but even a few minutes, done consistently, makes a real difference.
This isn’t a program designed for people with a lot of free time. It’s designed for people who are already busy and need something genuinely useful.
Because most yoga and meditation instruction tells you what to do, not why it works. Once you understand the nervous system logic behind the practices, what state you’re in, what’s driving it, what kind of input actually shifts it, the same techniques start working differently.
Understanding changes everything. You might also discover that some practices you’ve tried before weren’t well-matched to where your system actually was.
No. It’s educational in nature and builds skills. If you’re working with a therapist, this program can complement that work well, but it’s not a replacement for mental health treatment. If you’re unsure whether this is the right fit for you right now, I’m happy to chat before you sign up.
All sessions are recorded. You won’t fall behind if life gets in the way. The live sessions do have a different quality: you can ask questions, practice together, feel the group. So I’d encourage you to attend when you can. But missing one won’t derail you.
Not at all. We start from the beginning. You don’t need any prior knowledge of somatic work, yoga, meditation, or neuroscience. If anything, coming in without strong pre-existing frameworks can be an advantage, there’s nothing to unlearn.
