We are a community of Highly Sensitive overthinkers, book lovers, and unapologetic social justice warriors who are gleefully exploring the enticing world of inclusive romance: one where passion mixes with politics, and love is entwined with liberation.

Every two months, we read a sexy, sweet, and smart romance novel that reflects the lived realities of melanated and marginalized people… and that helps us solve for “The Behind Closed Doors Effect”.

That is, the diminishing, or outright dismissal, of oppression by claiming that any abuses of power that happen in private have absolutely nothing to do with the wider world.

By focusing on one of the most intimate - and vulnerable - relationships a person can have, the Society helps members strategize for the fact that what happens “behind closed doors” is directly linked to what happens outside of them.
