The Pool: 5300 Club
5300 Club Pool was built in 1958 as part of the Lortondale development; orginally, 4 phases of the MCM style homes, each with its own pool, were planned for development. Only 2 phases were built, which explains why we have 2 pools just a few blocks from each other. However, each of the pools (Lortondale Club and 5300 Club) and individually operated and maintained. Lortondale Club is a fully private pool club and does not have lifeguards on duty; because 5300 Club is open to the public, alongside having annual members, we are required by the Tulsa Health Department to meet certain health and safety requirements, which includes staffing certified lifeguards during open swim hours.
Red Cross certification (or registrations for an upcoming training course) is required for eligibility for the lifeguard role.

2026 Pool Attendant (14 & Up)
No certification required, but can be a good stepping stone to a lifeguard position in later seasons. See application for responsibilities and expectations.
