I signed up for Heather's Contrast Masterclass, which was insightful and very comprehensive... I am looking at tweaking my own brand colours as a result.

Roz, Rise Languages

I can't wait to put everything I've learnt into practice to ensure as many people as possible can access the content I produce.

No design experience needed! If you're comfortable using basic tools like Canva, Word, or similar software, you'll be able to apply everything you learn straight away.

In the masterclass, I'll walk you through how to adjust luminance contrast in Canva, Word, and CapCut (a subtitling tool), but the real value is in understanding the principles. Once you know how contrast works, you can apply it to whatever software you're already using – whether that's PowerPoint, Google Docs, or your organisation's preferred design tools.

The focus is on empowering you with knowledge, not tying you to specific programs.

The skills you'll learn will help with accessibility in general. But this masterclass goes deeper into the particular challenges faced by readers living with dementia.

You'll understand how dementia can affect depth perception and visual contrast sensitivity – challenges that aren't always covered in general accessibility guidance. This specialised knowledge means you'll be able to make informed decisions that truly work for people living with dementia, not just tick generic accessibility boxes.

It's about understanding the "why" behind the changes you're making, so you can create content that genuinely empowers all of your readers.

The masterclass itself is 35 minutes long, but you'll probably want to pause as you go along to try things out or jot down notes.

And yes, you'll have lifetime access. That means you can come back whenever you need a refresher, work through it at your own pace, and revisit specific sections as often as you like. There's no rush. Learn in a way that suits you.

By the end of the masterclass, you'll have a solid understanding of how luminance contrast is measured and how to adjust it in your documents. More importantly, you'll understand the real-world impact these changes have on accessibility for people living with dementia.

You'll be able to look at any piece of content you create and confidently make it more accessible. It's about giving you both the practical skills and the understanding of why it matters, so you can make informed decisions that empower your readers.

The principles you'll learn apply to just about anything you create in writing or design. Whether you're working on social media posts, reports, websites, instruction sheets, menus, forms, letters, or signage, the same luminance contrast principles will help you make them all more dementia-friendly.

Once you understand how contrast works, you'll be able to take any document or digital content with fresh eyes and know exactly how to check and improve it.
