Contest Rules and Regulations
1. Eligibility:
a. The "Name the Mascot" contest (the "Contest") is open to all individuals who meet the criteria outlined in these rules. Participants must be of legal age according to their country's laws or have obtained the consent of a parent or legal guardian.
b. Employees, affiliates, and immediate family members of the contest organizer are not eligible to participate.
2. Contest Period:
a. The Contest will begin on Tuesday, May 23, 2023 at 8 AM EST and will end on Sunday, June 4, 2023 at 11:59 PM EST.
All entries must be submitted within this period.
3. Entry Submission:
a. To enter the Contest, participants must submit their mascot name suggestion via Name Our Mascot Entry Form.
b. Each participant may submit only one entry. Duplicate or multiple entries from the same participant will be disqualified.
c. Entries must be original, creative, and must not violate any intellectual property rights or infringe upon the rights of any third party.
4. Ownership of Entries:
a. By submitting an entry, participants acknowledge and agree that all submitted entries become the property of the contest organizer. Participants relinquish all rights to their entries and any associated claims of intellectual property or copyright.
5. Judging and Selection of Winner:
a. The contest organizer will appoint a judging panel or committee to evaluate the submitted entries and select the winning name.
b. The judging panel will evaluate entries based on criteria such as creativity, originality, suitability for the mascot, and adherence to the contest theme.
c. If the winning mascot name is submitted by multiple contestants, winner will be chosen at random from those entries.
d. The judging panel's decision is final and binding on all participants and cannot be appealed.
6. Winner Notification:
a. The winner will be notified via email within 7 days of when the Contest ends.
b. The winner must respond to the notification within 3 days, providing any necessary details or information requested by the contest organizer. Failure to respond within the specified timeframe may result in disqualification and selection of an alternate winner.
7. Prizes:
a. The prizes for the Contest will be as specified in the official contest announcement or rules.
b. Prizes are non-transferable, non-exchangeable, and cannot be substituted or redeemed for cash unless specified otherwise.
c. Any taxes, duties, or additional costs related to the prize(s) are the sole responsibility of the winner.
d. A Year Supply of Chocolate Covered Pretzels is defined as (2) 1 lb. Milk Chocolate Covered Pretzel Boxes per month for 12 consecutive months. Prize is valued at $598.80.
e. $100 Sarris Candies Gift Card can be redeemed at our Canonsburg storefront and ice cream parlor or online at SarrisCandies.com. Gift Card does not expire.
8. Publicity:
a. By participating in the Contest, participants grant the contest organizer the right to use their name, likeness, and submitted entry for promotional purposes related to the Contest, without any further compensation.
9. Use of Information:
a. Participants acknowledge and agree that the contest organizer may collect and use the information provided during the Contest for marketing and promotional purposes, including adding participants to a marketing list or newsletter subscription. Participants have the option to unsubscribe from these communications at any time.
10. Disqualification:
a. The contest organizer reserves the right to disqualify any participant who violates the official rules, engages in fraudulent activity, or attempts to manipulate or interfere with the fairness or integrity of the Contest.
11. Modification or Termination:
a. The contest organizer reserves the right to modify, suspend, or terminate the Contest at any time and for any reason, without prior notice or liability.
12. Governing Law:
a. The Contest and these rules shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Pennsylvania. Any disputes arising from or related to the Contest shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in Washington County, PA.
