Who we are
Helping women feel confident tackling DIY.
Nail It DIY was founded by Sarah and Justine to help women feel more confident tackling DIY. Sarah is a fully qualified electrician who brings real trade knowledge and practical expertise to every session. Justine brings over 20 years of experience running fun, hands-on workshops that make learning new skills feel relaxed and achievable. Together they combine professional skills with a friendly, supportive approach to make DIY more accessible — and a lot less intimidating.

Thursday 26th March 18:00 - 20:00 | DIY Taster - International Women's DayHands-on taster session for beginners. For this event, any full-price participant (£49) has the option to bring a daughter, niece, or a girl in her life (aged 12–17) for just £10. You’re very welcome to attend on your own as usual — this is simply an opportunity if you’d like to learn side by side. The session focuses on practical skills — measuring, marking, drilling and sawing — and getting comfortable handling tools properly. Many of us were never taught this. That doesn’t have to continue. The £10 place is available only alongside a full-price adult ticket, and the young person must attend with that adult. If this feels like something worth doing together — or something you’d like to do for yourself — we’d love to see you there. |
Sunday 29th March 09:30 - 13:00 | DIY One - Theale - FULLY BOOKEDWHAT TO EXPECT DIY One (£98) takes the core skills you may have already learnt in our tasters (not required!) and elevates them to the next level. DIY One is designed to give you real confidence using the most common tools you'll encounter at home - safely, correctly, and without fear. You'll learn how a combi drill works (including drill bits, settings and what they mean) and practice drilling and cutting into materials like wood, plastic, plasterboard and metal. You'll also be introduced to a range of power tools - including SDS drills, impact drivers, multitools, sanders, jigsaws and a chop saw - with supervised, hands-on use, so you can understand what each tool is for and when you'd reach for it. Alongside this, we cover essential hand tools and accuracy skills such as measuring, marking up, levelling, fixing and fastening, as well as what to do if something goes wrong, so you can leave with a solid foundation you can apply to everyday DIY jobs at home. See below event for link to join waitlist. |
Sunday 29th Mar 14:00 - 17:30 | Home Maintenance - Theale - FULLY BOOKEDWHAT TO EXPECT Home Maintenance (£120) focuses on the practical jobs that keep a home running - starting with basic electrical tasks. You'll learn how to safely turn off your power, change light switches, socket faceplates, basic pendants, dimmer switches and USB sockets, as well as how to use spacers, repair back boxes and understand when you need to call an electrician. Beyond electrics, the workshop covers key basic plumbing and household maintenance skills, including bleeding radiators, isolating off water supplies, emptying hot and cold systems, basic tap changes and U-bends. We also look at practical home repairs such as replacing door handles, repairing stud walls, filling holes properly, understanding oven elements and using multimeters - giving you the confidence to tackle common problems and to know your limits. |
