VA Program Benefit Options

Veterans must already be, or must become, established as a patient with their local VA clinic and have at least an annual visit to qualify for either of the programs. Our family consultant can provide you with guidance on how to navigate the process!

Homemaker Program

The veteran must have a need for assistance with some or all of the following care needs:

Light Housekeeping in patient care area

Laundry Assistance

Light meal prep

Bathing, Toileting, Feeding or Dressing

Ambulation/Transfer assistance

Active and/or Passive Exercises

Assistance with medical equipment

It was extremely important to us, that my parents could stay in their home (that they had lived in for over 62 years), much longer, than they would have, otherwise. The Care Givers from Home Instead lovingly cared for my parents for over 4 years, until my mom passed away. Some of the folks that took care of my mom and dad attended her visitation and funeral service. They were a part of our family during those years.   • Contact your Social Worker at the VA Clinic where your VA Physician is located.

  • Inform the Social that you would like for your HHA Services to be moved from current provider to Home Instead

  • To assist them, provide the correct Agency Identification Number for the location. The VA Social Worker will begin the approval process.

  • Once Home Instead receives approval from the VA office, we will reach out to you to schedule an RN Assessment to initiate the start of services with Home Instead.

  • 1750921979 - If you receive care in the greater Baton Rouge area including Ascension and Livingston Parishes.

  • 1114567336 - If you receive care in Hammond and Ponchatoula areas.

  • 1831739069 - If you receive care in the Lawrenceville, Gainesville, Cumming, Buford, Snellville, Conyers or Covington areas.

  • 1447820550 - If you receive care in the northwest Atlanta, Dunwoody, Peachtree Corners, Buckhead, Decatur and Stone Mountain areas.

  • Contact the closest VA Clinic to you to access your VA Community Network benefits.

  • Inform the VA clinic that you are a veteran and would like to establish primary care VA physician.

  • Set up an appointment with this physician. During your appointment, inform the Physician that you are requesting Homemaker & Home Health Aide Service through Home Instead.

  • Your new VA Physician’s Social Worker will begin the approval process.

  • Once Home Instead receives approval from the VA office, we will reach out to you to schedule an RN Assessment to initiate the start of services with Home Instead.
