Let's make planning for a substitute teacher easier!

If you’re a teacher or becoming a teacher there are bound to be days when you are going to be out of the building a need a substitute teacher. Whether for professional development, sick kids, being sick yourself, or just needing a day away we can’t avoid the reality that it is almost impossible to be able to teach every day.

Now, thankfully substitute teachers are out there and willing to cover for us when we need to be away, BUT they are in short supply, at least where I am from. That means we need to cherish these people and make their jobs as easy as possible.

Now, if you’re a music teacher there is an additional challenge that you are likely to run into. The main one is that finding substitute teachers with a music background is RARE.

So, from my experience as a substitute teacher and from preparing sub plans here are my best tips on how to prepare easy and productive plans for substitute teachers.
