To prepare, I recommend this:

It's up to you how much time you devote to studying in total, but 30-60 minutes a week plus the Hungarian lesson is definitely necessary.

If you can already answer simple questions (Hol élsz? Hány éves vagy? Kivel találkozol délután?), the course shouldn't be too difficult.

If you have already learnt indefinite conjugation (e.g. élek, élsz, él, élünk, éltek, élnek), the accusative (e.g. alma - almát), plural (alma - almák), singular possessive (alma - az almám), hol?, hova? honnan? endings, then it will be good for you.
