Hi!

I’m Adva Shaviv, and I'm looking for beta-readers for ADventures Heading up and Down, my cozy, contemporary, portal fantasy inspired by ADHD, consisting of about 100,000 words (around 350 pages).

I've had a very helpful round of beta readers followed by professional editing, and I'm currently finalizing the new version based on all their feedback. Upcoming: second round!

Text: ADHD fantasy. Dare you lose focus? Below the text, an open book with an illustrated colorful brain and the words: Sometimes it feels like ADHD is a wonderland. Sometimes, it really is.

Interested?

Please fill in this form!

Your answers will help me create a mix of readers with various backgrounds for each round, which is what I strive for.

Submitting this form is not binding for either of us. I will contact each of you in due time (probably mid-September) either to ask if you're willing to read at that specific time, or to let you know I have had enough beta readers and will not require any more.

Not sure about this whole Greek-letter stuff? Please read the questions and answers below the form.

Wait. I didn't really follow.

What is a "cozy, contemporary, portal fantasy inspired by ADHD"?

My novel is a fantasy, taking place in an imaginary world inspired by ADHD. A portal connects this fantastic world and our own contemporary world, moving the plot between the two. It makes for a cozy read, where feel-good and the magical rule, rather than epic battles.

What are beta-readers?

These are the first readers of a novel's advanced draft, who give the author (me!) their honest feedback, thus influence the final novel by helping revise where needed. Of course, they also eventually get the final ebook as a gift, once it's published!

NOTE: I will not be able to reciprocate, and thus am only looking for beta readers, rather than critique partners/ swaps.

What’s in it for you?

A free read; influencing the writing by giving your opinion; thanks in the book’s acknowledgments (unless you prefer not to), and a free copy of the final ebook once it's complete!

What’s in it for me?

Invaluable input on what works and what doesn’t, and how to give the book its best form. Can’t do this without you!

What is required of you?

To carefully read the whole thing and send me back detailed feedback based on my guiding questions, chapter by chapter. Preferably, within 3-4 weeks.

What sort of feedback will you be asked to give?

All your thoughts about the book! What you think works and what doesn't; what you like and what you don't, in terms of worldbuilding, plot, characters and everything you care about as a reader. Also, pointing out mistakes like plot holes or inconsistencies, which I may miss, being too close to the text.

.What happens if you’re late/ can’t finish/ lose interest?

I thank you from the bottom of my heart for whatever help you did give me, and we part as friends!
