Hi! I'm Melinda Irving.

I am a mom of 4 and wife of 11 years. An original Texan, I moved to East TN 10 years ago to be closer to where my grandfather grew up.

I've had three natural unmedicated births 2 of which were water births & one medicated hospital birth. Out of the four births two were hospital and two were at home.

I fell in love with birth years ago and directed that passion into becoming a childbirth educator and doula in 2024 with my sweet husband's encouragement. I started my business The Scripted Birth in early 2025.

As a Christian I know the importance of keeping Jesus at the center of everything - including bringing a child into the world. I also understand being uneducated and uninformed when it comes to labor and birth and how that can lead to a lot of fear or not great birth outcomes.

Most of the childbirth world is very secular and I hope to create a space where fellow Christians will feel the love of our Father and learn how to lean into Him to help guide them during this most special time. Jesus conquers all fear!

When I'm not doing birthwork you can find me homeschooling my two oldest kids, baking or cooking from scratch, reading a thriller mystery book, and growing our small homestead.

Kellie Botts, RN, CPM

Kellie's journey into midwifery began as a Registered Nurse in Labor and Delivery, where she worked for several years, gaining invaluable experience and deep insight into the birthing process. While she cherished supporting families in the hospital setting, Kellie felt a calling to provide more personalized, holistic, and mother-centered care. This led her to pursue midwifery through an apprenticeship with an experienced midwife, where she completed the rigorous requirements for licensure and developed an even deeper reverence for the sacred and transformative nature of birth.

Kellie believes that birth is divinely designed by our creator—a perfect harmony between mother, baby, and the miracle of life. Her philosophy is deeply rooted in the belief that every woman deserves respect, autonomy, and informed decision-making throughout her pregnancy and birth experience.

Kellie will be speaking on our first day of class! She will talk about how to choose your provider based on your beliefs. She will be bringing all her knowledge of years of working in labor and delivery and her midwifery experience.

Dr. Cheyenne Allen, PT, CBS

Dr. Cheyenne, PT, CBS is a pediatric physical therapist and the founder of Milestones Therapy & Wellness, where she teaches parents how to help their children reach milestones- from breastfeeding to walking. With a passion for early intervention, she works closely with parents to support optimal development from birth. Drawing from both professional expertise and personal experience as a mother, Cheyenne is dedicated to empowering families with the knowledge and tools to help their little ones thrive.
