About Breathwork

My breathwork journey

I am Gemma, and my journey helping people started almost two decades ago as a coach in the corporate world and then on a more personal level when I qualified as a personal trainer. It was at this point that I gained my understanding and passion for the connection between our physical and mental health.

I stumbled across breathwork at a seminar, and my instant thought was, ‘Oh no, what have I got myself into here’. Twenty minutes in, and my mind was completely quiet for the first time in my adult life…no overthinking, planning, or writing lists. It was bliss. I had caught the bug and was hooked.  Over the next two years, I completed a breathwork diploma, researched my specialism, practiced hundreds of hours of techniques, and (most importantly) experienced huge benefits of my own.

I knew I would one day want to share this with the world, so here I am, ready to share it with you. Fancy joining me on this incredible journey?

This form of breathwork is not recommended for anyone with a history of cardiovascular disease, including angina or heart attack, uncontrolled high blood pressure, use of a pacemaker, aneurysms, glaucoma, retinal detachment, severe osteoporosis, seizure disorders, significant recent physical injuries or surgery, active addictions, mental illness or pregnant women.

If you have asthma, please bring your inhaler and consult with your primary care physician beforehand, as well as inform the Breathwork class facilitator – me!

You may experience an intense emotional release, so it is not advised to attend if there isn’t anyone you can talk to or call after the session if the need arises.
