There are many breathwork techniques out there, each with a long list of benefits, including managing stress and anxiety, reducing high blood pressure, releasing trauma (or unwanted emotions), increasing focus, or simply feeling calmer.
Breathwork has been used for thousands of years, and many of us are under the impression that it is only for the spiritual or mystical-minded. This is purely a myth. In recent years, more and more research has been conducted, therefore opening this practice up for the more cynical of us. Trust me when I say that breathwork really is a tool for everyone.
Conscious Connected Breathwork is a technique that allows us to bypass our busy everyday thinking minds - something that many of us can not do easily - and access a deeper version of ourselves so we can really tap into our body and mind. It allows for transformation and for healing. We hold on to past experiences and emotions in our bodies, the good and the unwanted. This popular style of breathwork allows the movement of these emotions and the release of those that no longer serve us. So, be it trauma, anxiety, guilt, or simply the day-to-day stress of our lives, the techniques I teach, along with a powerful playlist (no twinkly music here), can help you address your feelings in a gentle way while ensuring they are not creating barriers or holding you back.
If you are intrigued, or any part of this resonates with you, I invite you to join me and experience it for yourself.
I am Gemma, and my journey helping people started almost two decades ago as a coach in the corporate world and then on a more personal level when I qualified as a personal trainer. It was at this point that I gained my understanding and passion for the connection between our physical and mental health.
I stumbled across breathwork at a seminar, and my instant thought was, ‘Oh no, what have I got myself into here’. Twenty minutes in, and my mind was completely quiet for the first time in my adult life…no overthinking, planning, or writing lists. It was bliss. I had caught the bug and was hooked. Over the next two years, I completed a breathwork diploma, researched my specialism, practiced hundreds of hours of techniques, and (most importantly) experienced huge benefits of my own.
I knew I would one day want to share this with the world, so here I am, ready to share it with you. Fancy joining me on this incredible journey?
I am delighted to be a guest facilitator at the Coaching Women's Circle in Cambridge in November.
I am not the host of the circle, so please follow the link for the full event page.
If this powerful combination of breathing and music isn't enough, there is the added option of doing it all in a hammock as well as a floor space.
There are limited spaces for each option, click below to choose your space.
Keep an eye out for future dates.
