What exactly is Züri Colour Hunt?

It’s a creative, low-pressure walking event. Instead of a traditional scavenger hunt for specific objects, we will be searching for colours! We provide you with a colour palette or a theme (e.g., "find something red or yellow", and you explore a designated area of Zürich to find those hues in architecture, street art, nature, doors, shop fronts, or everyday objects.

How long does the event it last?

The event runs for approximately 1 to 1.5 hours. We will meet at a designated starting point, briefly explain the rules, and then you are free to explore. We’ll meet back at the designated spot at the end to share our digital collages.

Where do we meet?

The specific meeting point is revealed after you sign up via the form on this website. We keep the location a secret until then to manage group sizes. You will receive an email with the exact address (usually a central point in Zürich city center).

How do I sign up?

Just leave your email on this website. This is completely free, but it helps us know how many people to expect so we can manage the location and ensure a good experience for everyone.

Shall I bring anything?

Yes, please bring:

• A smartphone or camera: you’ll need this to take photos of the colours you find.

• Comfortable walking shoes: we’ll be on our feet for around 1.5h.

• Weather-appropriate gear: the event happens rain or shine (unless it’s dangerously stormy), so bring an umbrella or sunscreen.

• A fully charged phone battery!

• Good mood and curiosity :)

Is it suitable for children?

Absolutely! This is a fantastic activity for kids. It encourages them to look at their city in a new way. Please note that the walk may cover 2-3 km, so ensure your children are comfortable walking for that distance or bring a stroller / pushchair.

Can I come alone, or do I need a team?

You are welcome either way! Many people come solo and either enjoy the meditative experience alone or end up chatting with fellow hunters along the way. You can also bring friends or family—it’s a great activity for all ages.

I signed up but can’t make it anymore. What should I do?

No problem at all! Life happens. Please just send us a quick email ([email protected]) or use the contact form to let us know you can’t make it. This frees up a spot for someone on the waiting list.

Is the route wheelchair accessible?

We try our best to choose locations that are accessible (paved paths, avoiding stairs). If you have specific accessibility requirements, please mention them in the email to us ([email protected]), and we will ensure the chosen location is suitable for everyone.

What do we do with the photos we take?

At the end of the hunt, we love to gather in a circle and have everyone share their digital collages on their phone screen. To prepare the collage online you can use free Pixrl collage maker. It’s a wonderful way to see the city through someone else’s eyes.
