CURRENT CAMPAIGN

HRT initiation for trans patients at Concordia Health Services

Trans patients are sounding the alarm about a troubling reduction in the quality and availability of gender-affirming care at Concordia Health Services. In the 2025-26 academic year, no CHS practitioners have initiated HRT for trans patients. Sources also say that physicians have refused informal training that was offered to address this issue. We are developing a relationship with CHS to work towards a resolution of this important and discriminatory gap in care.

Resources

Currently available at CHS are: maintenance of ongoing prescriptions, hormone injection administration and teaching for self-injection, post-mastectomy care (ie, drain removal), referrals to specialists or clinics that initiate HRT (e.g., endocrinologists), walk-ins or appointments with a nurse to orient patients to appropriate resources.

ORGANIZATION
