Help Us Rebuild Homes and Restore Dignity for the Visually Impaired and Elderly at Buigiri Center for the Blind and Elderly.
The Buigiri Center for the Blind and Elderly, located in Chamwino District, Dodoma, Tanzania. Established in 1992, this center has been a lifeline for visually impaired individuals and elderly people who need a safe and supportive community, away from the hardships of begging on the streets.
We are committed to improving the living conditions at the center by rebuilding the homes to be safe, accessible, and dignified for all the residents. The cost to rebuild each house—including three bedrooms and a proper toilet—is estimated at 15,000,000 TSH. To rebuild all 13 houses, we need to raise a total of 195,000,000 TSH, or about 74,000 USD.
About our founder
Dr Neema Peter Majule
Rhema School was founded by Dr. Neema Majule, a passionate educator and community trainer, who recognized the transformative power of education in uplifting marginalized and underprivileged communities. Having worked extensively with those facing social and economic hardships, Dr. Majule understood the unique challenges that stigmatized individuals, such as orphans and vulnerable children, often face in accessing quality education. Motivated by a deep commitment to create positive change, she established Rhema School with a clear vision: to use education as a tool for personal and community development. Her goal was to not only provide academic learning but also to instill moral and spiritual values, enabling students to grow into responsible, compassionate, and knowledgeable individuals.
The school was designed to offer education from Nursery through to Secondary level, providing a comprehensive learning environment that nurtures both intellectual growth and personal development. At Rhema, we aim to become a center of educational excellence, where students are encouraged to excel academically while also developing their character, ethical values, and sense of purpose.
