South Yorkshire English Language Consortium
What is it?
The South Yorkshire English Language Consortium is a new programme that gives adults with little or no English easy access to free English Language support in their local community. It focuses on pre-entry English, everyday conversation, and basic digital skills, delivered in trusted places across Barnsley, Doncaster, Rotherham and Sheffield.
Total Training Provision has been commissioned by the South Yorkshire Mayoral Combined Authority (SYMCA) to lead the programme. As the prime provider, we manage the funding, support local organisations, and make sure the delivery is high-quality and meets the needs of our communities.

Led by South Yorkshire’s Mayor, Oliver Coppard, South Yorkshire Mayoral Combined Authority brings together the local authorities of Barnsley, Doncaster, Rotherham and Sheffield.
Total Training Provision
We are a training provider, driven by quality delivery, commissioned by SYMCA to oversee the success of this South Yorkshire English Language Consortium.

Voluntary, community and third sector organisations across South Yorkshire are invited to apply to join the South Yorkshire English Language Consortium, led by Total Training Provision. We are seeking trusted, community-based organisations to deliver pre-entry English language provision, conversational English and essential digital skills to adults who face language barriers.
If your organisation supports local residents - and you want to help them build confidence, communication skills and pathways into education, work and community life - we want to hear from you.
