The Firestarter Question

A street campaign making invisible mothers visible again.

What would you say to another mum who feels like she's lost herself?

I've been asking this question on busy streets, at school gates, in parks.

Because too many mothers carry this feeling alone — the quiet sense that somewhere along the way, they disappeared.

Not physically. But inside.

Their voice got smaller. Their fire got buried. And no one thought to ask if they were still in there.

This campaign is changing that.

Why This Exists

It started on a postnatal ward at 3 a.m.

Blue curtains. Another mother sobbing behind them. My body broken, my milk not coming, and a squeaky trolley rolling past.

In that moment, I realised: I had disappeared.

Everyone was asking about the baby. No one was asking about me. I wasn't a woman anymore. I was a function.

And I know I'm not the only one.

So I took my microphone to the streets. I started asking mothers the question no one else was asking. And what I heard broke me open — and lit something on fire.

Mothers don't need rescuing. They need witnessing.

The Dream

I'm building a movement to make invisible mothers visible again.

Starting in Bristol. Growing nationwide. Partnering with midwives, doulas, and motherhood organisations. Collecting and archiving mothers' voices — so their stories live on.

This isn't about me. It's about us. The women who lost themselves in motherhood and are ready to be seen again.

Watch the Conversations

Real mothers. Real answers. Unscripted.
