Women's Health Retreat

3-night Retreat - Garth Barns, Wales
1st - 4th May 2026

Join Anji Gopal & team for a nourishing long-weekend in fabulous surroundings

Let us take CARE of you ✨

Life in 2025 asks so much of women - we hold together families, work, health and responsibilities, often without the time or space to properly rest. It’s easy to feel drained, stretched thin, or simply not ourselves.

This retreat is about nourishment and resilience. It’s a chance to step away from the demands of daily life and restore the strength that sustains YOU in body, heart, mind and spirit.

Together, we’ll create space to rest, move, breathe and reconnect. You’ll be supported by nature, gentle practices and the company of other wonderful women. Slowly, your energy returns. Your clarity returns. And with it, your sense of vitality.

🌿 Join me in the UK this spring for a health-focused retreat that restores, rebuilds, and renews — so you can move forward with resilience and a vibrant spark for the months ahead.

"A weekend of peace, calm & reflection. To practice and be with a group of like-minded women, supporting eachother, not always aware this was happening - just lovely."

SPACE & TIME

Join Anji and her team for a long weekend away from it all.

Clean air, endless sky, views of nature, clean food and TIME. Time to pause, breathe, laugh and revive – in a retreat for women.

Let's tap into our physical, mental and emotional selves – through daily movement, discussion time, rest and with everything taken care of. Let’s find out what we need to support and balance us, where the stresses lie in our lives and what simple practical steps we can take to find ourselves a path to space and freedom.

Our programme is kind and nourishing:

  • Movement & breathwork
  • Special sequences designed for women's health including pelvic floor health
  • Relaxation & restorative yoga
  • Time for journaling
  • Enquiry into where our challenges and opportunities lie right now
  • Guided woodland walk
  • Time for wild swimming
  • Forest bathing
  • Evening fire circle
  • Plenty of time to rest

You will leave feeling refreshed and reconnected with your female energy.

Note that all retreats are time for YOU. If you want to share, you do, if you don't, you don't. If you need time in silence, take it. If you want to chat, chat. We encourage you to take the time to get what YOU need from the retreat.

“Thank you for a wonderful weekend. Life at home has been challenging and so it was such a relief to find that, with a bit of space and time, it actually IS possible to find a sense of calm again.”

By Car: Most guests arrive by car. The venue is c.4 hours drive from London and 2 hours drive from Birmingham.

Train: It is also possible to arrive by train, with the closest station, Caersws, being a 15 minute drive away. Taxis can be booked locally to transport you to the venue. Prior booking of taxis is essential - we can assist with this for you closer to the time.

We don't recommend particular trains - or organise official 'car pools' but we can put you in touch with other guests travelling from your local area.

I felt calm and relaxed. I was able to silence the constant chatter in my head and I was surprised at how quickly this happened.

ACCOMMODATION

Our retreat will have a maximum of 20 attendees.

There are 16 well equipped and spacious en-suite rooms. All have one bed, twin sharing rooms have two beds and triple sharing rooms have 3 beds. Bedding and towels are provided. If you wish to swim in the lake please bring your own swimming towel. Hammam towels are provided for the sauna.

Don't worry if you don't have someone to share with - the rooms are spacious and it's always an opportunity to make a new connection. Or bring a friend or family member!

The bedrooms are spread over 3 large barns, all close to our communal dining and practice areas. Our together time will take place in Hafod Barn, which is fully heated.

FOOD

Healthy food is a huge part of being away from it all and part of feeling great - inside and out.

Don’t worry about having to survive on a salad leaf a day – our AMAZING private chef Micky (who many of you will remember from Cornwall 2024) will be cooking us 3 meals a day - fresh, healthy and hearty - sourced from local ingredients. Her food (shown above) is astounding in flavour, colour and taste and she is a lovely human too. Food cooked with love - a feast for the senses. We will be mainly vegetarian, with one fish supper.

The most important thing is that YOU don't have to think about what the next meal is, what ingredients are in the fridge or who is doing the shopping – it’s all taken care of – as well as the tidying up!

Hot drinks and fruit available all day.

Wine will be available with the evening meal (additional cost) but if you do want to use this time to breakaway from bad habits, then this is the perfect opportunity to do so.

“What a great retreat! A lovely group of people, delicious vegetarian food & a perfect location. The yoga was a lovely combination of challenging and relaxing. Anji’s warmth, skill and enthusiasm made me look forward to every class. She is an outstanding teacher and communicator. Can’t wait for the next one!”

WHAT TO EXPECT

Anji is a London-based senior Yoga teacher & Osteopath who marries expertise in healthcare with her Yoga teaching. She believes that Yoga should be a nurturing & easeful set of practices that support us - mind, body and spirit. So we will strengthen, stretch, move and rest. Everything you need in a gentle way to accommodate all.

On this retreat, she will be joined by her colleague Rebekah Hay-Brown.

As professional women in their 50s, navigating teenagers, aged parents, spouses, jobs, pets & more, Anji & Rebekah fully understand the stresses and strains of life & look forward to sharing ways to make life more easeful.

THE BENEFIT OF A RETREAT IS THE SPACE - SO MUCH OF YOUR TIME IS YOUR OWN TO RELAX, WANDER, WALK, SLEEP, READ, WANDER OR JUST BREATHE.

Our schedule will be firmed up closer to the start of the retreat depending on the weather, but the outline is as follows:

Friday 1st May
Arrival from 3pm

2 hour practice before dinner

Saturday and Sunday
2 x 2 hour practices morning and evening (pre dinner)

Optional daytime workshop

One evening - restorative / meditation after dinner

Monday
Morning yoga 2.5 hours – depart by 4pm

Practices will be movement, relaxation, breathwork and restorative yoga. Our teachings are intelligent, kind and tailored to who is in the room. (They are also fun and can be challenging).

Saturday and Sunday will each have an optional daytime workshop on our theme of reconnecting with who we are as women, right here and now. One session will explore how we manage overwhelm and stress and the other will look at models for managing all the domains of our lives.

Daytimes we will walk in the woods, swim in the lake, rest in the forest or take a sauna. Evenings we can chat, sit by the firepit, watch the start or sneak into bed early!

I loved the time and space that the retreat with Anji gave for reflecting and noticing things about body and mind. I came home having had lots of thoughts about the path I’d like to be following, and the changes I’d like to make as well as seeing how regular yoga practice can be the grounding anchor that I need, which was a revelation as I hadn't felt that before."

FAQ

What is a retreat?

A retreat is the gift of TIME. Time for you to explore your Yoga practice, time for the benefits of the practice to settle in body & mind. Time to work out who & where you are. Time to rest, to reflect, to renew.

Who is this retreat for?

Women looking for a break from hectic household and work schedules. If you need to get away from your loved ones to reset, to get some perspective in a supported & nourishing environment, this is for you.

Who goes on Yoga Retreat? Will everyone be a Yoga Expert?

NOT AT ALL! If you have taken a class with Anji or Rebekah, you know that their teaching attracts a range of NORMAL PEOPLE. Their teaching is accessible to all and focused on what each individual can do. Whether you are new to Yoga or have many decades practice – at the end of the day, we are all students, seeking to learn more.

On this retreat, we welcome anybody with an enquiring mind. Your fellow seekers will be a range of interesting & interested beings who also need time. You don’t need to bring anything with you, or wear special gear – just bring yourself.

I might be on my own, will that be strange?

It’s pretty common for retreat-goers to attend alone – so don’t be nervous about being a solo-traveller. Retreat groups are always welcoming and friendly, but time to be alone is also precious. You are the boss of how much you interact (or not) with your fellow retreaters, even if you are sharing a room.

I have some health concerns, will I be able to keep up?

You will be asked to complete a health questionnaire before you come along, and are encouraged to have a chat with Anji or Rebekah prior to booking if you have any health concerns. Remember, their approach to teaching is to be inclusive with modifications if necessary.

Listening to your own body is all part of our growth as Yoga students and you will be encouraged to rest if needed. This is Advanced practice as far as we are concerned!

I know Anji is a Registered Osteopath and Rebekah is a Psychotherapist – will advice or treatment be given?

The practices will include elements of Yoga for BackCare, therapeutic sequences, exploration of what health and well-being means for us all and more. Modifications during yoga practice will be offered.

However, nothing will be constituted as ‘treatment’ or individual healthcare recommendations, beyond a normal yoga experience. We will not be offering individual consultations during the retreat. Again, please complete the health questionnaire on booking – or give us a call & have a chat if you have any questions.
