FAQ's

Will I be in the water?

No, you will be manually assisted onto an inflatable bed and will float calmly on the water on this throughout the session until we assist you off. Please contact us before booking if you have limited mobility.

Do I need to wear swimwear?

No you are welcome to wear anything that is light and comfortable, but we recommend shorts/ short trousers and no socks. You will be covered by a blanket throughout the session for your comfort.

What do I need to bring?

We will supply you with the bed, a blanket and an eye mask but you may wish to bring a small towel for drying yourself if needed and some water to drink post session.  There is a possibility you may get wet, so we advise you to wear something you don't mind getting wet and you may like to bring spare clothes incase you do get wet.

Do I need to be able to swim?

Yes upon booking you will agree to a waiver in which we state you must be a competent swimmer, even though you entering the water is highly unlikely, we cannot guarantee you will stay in the shallow end of the pool throughout the session as you are free to drift and we will not always have a life guard on site.

Are there contraindications?

Although there are very few contraindications and minimal risk taking part in sessions, these will be outlined in our waiver but please be advised before booking that our beds do come with a weight restriction of 136kg and we do not recommend having a heavy meal in the 2 hours prior to your session. Please contact us before booking, if you are unable to lie on your back as we will need to make adjustments to your position on the bed.

Can I take part if I'm pregnant?

Yes, a Sound Drift is deemed safe for pregnant women between 12-30 weeks. Please be advised that you will need to be physically able to get on and off the bed with manual assistance.

What if I need to stop and leave the session?

You may raise your hand at any point and we will discreetly bring you safely to the side and assist you off and out.

How long do sessions last?

Sessions last for an hour and this includes the time assisting you on and off the bed. Please do not enter the poolside more than 5 minutes before the beginning of your session and we ask that talking pre and post session is kept discreet so as not to disturb others taking part and to keep the environment as calm as possible.

Terms & Conditions

Although our Sound Drift sessions are aimed at deeply relaxing you, please listen to your body by doing what feels right and comfortable for you. If you have any existing injuries or medical conditions that may impair your judgment or affect your ability to take part then please let us know prior to the session. We take no responsibility for injury or accidents during the sessions or whilst on the premises as by booking a place, you agreed to have read and understood the FAQ's and we trust you are able to take part safely.

As stated in the FAQ's, you must be a competent swimmer as although it is highly unlikely you will fall into the water, we cannot guarantee a life guard will be present and we take no responsibility of non-swimmers or any consequences as a result of falling into the water. By taking part you agree that you may get wet. You must also be aware of the weight restrictions on the beds, again to keep you safe and we take no responsibility for any consequences as a result of not following these guidelines. You will be required to be mobile enough to get on and off the bed with manual assistance but if your mobility is limited or you cannot easily lie flat on your back then you agree to contact us prior to the session so we can assure you have the support you need and it is safe for you to join. If you do not inform us prior to the session we may be unable to let you take part on the day.

The practices included in sessions are not known to have any adverse effects, however, part of the healing process may involve emotional release and detox symptoms, on rare occasions, so please drink plenty of water in the 24 hours after your session and contact us if you have any concerns. You are unable to take part if you are under the influence of any drugs or alcohol and we take no responsibility for any consequences as a result of you taking part when intoxicated. You are unable to take part if you are under 18 years old.

Please seek medical advice prior to sessions if the following apply to you:

Severely high or low blood pressure, Heart conditions, Asthma/breathing difficulties, Recent surgery, Unstable pregnancy (you can join between 12 and 30 weeks only) Epilepsy or a history of strokes, Tinnitus, Regular/severe migraines, Motion sickness.

We take no responsibility for any consequences as a result of joining sessions if the above apply to you and you haven’t been given consent by your medical practitioners before taking part.

You will be gently floating on the water so we ask that you give the bed time to settle and for your body to adjust to the sensation. If you feel severe motion sickness then please raise your hand and we will assist you off. We cannot offer any refunds if you wish to leave early. Most people find the sensation profoundly relaxing and beneficial especially those experiencing aches and pains.

Sessions are non-refundable on booking unless we need to cancel and we ask that you please arrive ready no more than 5 minutes before your session. Familiarise yourself with what to wear/bring in the FAQ's but the pools are often warm and we provide blankets so we advise cool, breathable and loose clothing or swimwear. Please remove necklaces and as you are lying on your back, you may wish to remove any hair clips/bobbles for your comfort.

Please be aware that if you book for the wrong location or date, we cannot guarantee we can transfer your session to an alternative session.

If you have any questions or concerns please contact us directly and we will do our best to accommodate you.

Testimonials

"I've never come across anything similar to Sound Drift - and so I approached it with big expectations and somehow Ferne & Maya exceeded them. The session was perfect to unwind and quieten the mind. Beautiful mixture of sounds whilst blissfully drifting on water with elements of guided relaxation - all designed to let all the senses rest. I don't remember when I was so calm last! I would definitely recommend Sound Drift and I'm hoping to experience their magic again soon."

"Hi ladies, just wanted to say Thankyou again for a lovely evening. The collaboration of the sound bath and floating on water really helped to centre and calm myself.
The visuals I had from the meditation experience were beautiful. I’ll definitely be recommending to my friends and family.. the blanket and eye mask that you provided made it extra cosy and comfortable too!
Can’t wait to attend another!"
