Welcome to my crazy world.

I have built this place to encourage people like you to have a look at my work as means of an online portfolio. As a creative I depend on great ideas to survive so in other words you may also consider this to be my online journal of previous projects. Apart from all the awards and massive billboards that remind me of my reputation, I genuinely love the idea of solving problems using Art and creatively gathering information for a bigger solution. Having worked for various companies I am lucky enough to find a few that occasionally collaborate with me from time to time. My name is Mbongeni Fongoqa, I am an illustrator Artist who studied Graphic Design and became equipped with the right knowledge of how to prepare artwork for production and digital use. My favourite type of briefs are the ones that clearly outline the problem and what needs to be done and in doing so sharing relatively similar ideas that can be used as a guided path for me to follow. Otherwise I'm super excited to have you here reading all the way to the end of my little introduction that makes you a keeper. When I am not working privately for clients I love getting involved in community projects especially wall murals and development for the community and stake holders.

Molo Mhlaba School is pioneering a new model of education for South African girls living in urban townships. When we started collaborating they had requested me to create designs for some of their textbooks. Later on when I was invited to paint wall murals outside and in the reception area.

iKeja wireless is a South African Tech company that offers affordable internet access to eKasi. I managed to hook them up with some GIF artwork for social media and recently have collaborated with them in Proudly eKasi t-shirt.

This is a publication I got amazing opportunity to work on thanks to the guys at Design For Development. To be honest with you given this brief now I would actually bring the heat in-terms of style and illustrations.

The wine village in Germany approached me for the production of their wine covers for an up coming festival. After a few minutes into our chat it was very clear that this was a simple and straight forward brief, the best part in the brief was the freedom to create the characters in my own style. A few days passed and I had made about 25 characters each with a specific wine in mind. What could have made this an exceptionally top of the range of the job would have been getting a chance to taste each wine before making a character. With my thrust for clear inspiration I managed to hook my man up with 13 kick ass characters for his festival.
