Thousands of women basketball players are forced into retirement at age 22

because there aren't enough leagues for them to play in

after their college eligibility expires.

That ends today.

EXALT™️ Women's Basketball Tips Off In 2026

According to the NCAA, there are more than 28,000 women playing collegiate basketball in 2025. There are fewer than 160 spots in the WNBA. Let that sink in. No, really...let that sink in. Those numbers paint a tragic picture (and future) for girls and women basketball players. They reveal that thousands of women have to retire from basketball at ages 22-24 -- if they don't make it to the WNBA or play overseas. We started EXALT to solve this problem.

Exalt provides on-court and off-court post collegiate basketball career opportunities for women who mean business - in our CORE FOUR areas. First, we offer exceptional post-collegiate ballers who aren't under current WNBA, Unrivaled, Athletes United or overseas contracts, professional hoop opportunities in the United States from April-July. Second, we offer developmental professional opportunities within and around basketball (e.g. training, skills, coaching, media, front office). Third, we aspire to become the go-to developmental organization for grassroots youth basketball in communities around the United States, and ultimately, the WORLD. And fourth, we are committed to preaching the gospel of equity and inclusion for girls and women worldwide. So, get in touch NOW if you're an active player, retired player, coach, trainer, mascot or operations exec. We wanna hear from ya!

A Note from EXALT™️ Founder, Fran Harris

WNBA Champion (Houston Comets), NCAA Champion (Texas), Shark Tank Alum (Electra electrolyte hydration), Founder EXALT

When the WNBA started in 1997, I was retired. I hadn't played basketball professionally since 1988 - the year I became the last person waived from the Olympic team. After I was cut, not gonna lie, I was ticked, let's just keep it a buck. I was hurt and disappointed, so instead of going back overseas and going through four more years of tryouts and national teams -- I hung up my sneakers and enrolled in graduate school at my alma mater, The University of Texas.

Eight years later, (1996) the ABL (American Basketball League) launched and one year after that, the WNBA launched. Fortunately I was still young enough -- and "in decent enough shape" when the Houston Comets invited me to an open tryout on Mother's Day 1997. And the rest is history...or I guess I should say, HERSTORY. I never looked back. To be able to play pro basketball in the United States where my family and friends could support (just like my college days) was truly magical.

Maybe your story is similar to mine. Or maybe you're fresh out of college wondering about your next hoop move. Or maybe you're finished with actively playing basketball and instead, you want to explore becoming a broadcaster, trainer, coach or exec in the front office. Either way, EXALT was built just for you. Built to propel, uplift and amplify women (and a few good men) in sports.

Coming off of an incredible campaign where our team raised $400M+ to bring a WNBA team to Austin, I can tell you that there's an appetite for women's basketball. Our league will set the bar for what's possible in the sport that truly changed my life.

Finally, there's no better time to pursue a career in sports. You are exactly where you need to be. This is your moment. All ya gotta do right this second... is SHOOT YOUR SHOT. We are actively looking for players, coaches, executives, trainers, and partners. Make your next move, your best move. I can't wait to meet you. It's our TIME.
