Which is why I offer different consultation groups to suit the various needs and levels of training. I'm also an Approved Clinical Consultant through the IFS-I, so my groups will count toward your certification and recertification hours!
My groups are specifically for those therapists and practitioners who are interested in expanding their skills in working with clients who struggle with food and body concerns.
Why? Well, this is my specialty area. It's the thing I like talking about and teaching the most. And sadly, it doesn't seem to come up a lot in general trainings.
It's also an area that many therapists and practitioners get a little (or a lot) freaked out about when their clients bring it up. So let's change that!
As there are numerous ways of learning IFS and because folx don't usually fit neatly into one box, I do not separate groups based on training level. Meaning, I don't have groups specifically for level 1 trained individuals vs. those trained in other programs. Instead, when you express an interest in my groups, you'll complete a brief inquiry form to let me know your training and experience, and I'll match you with folx who are similar.
You'll be taken to a google form where you'll be asked about your training and experience with IFS. You'll also have the opportunity to indicate what days/times work well for you. I launch new groups when I have enough people who are at similar levels and have the same availability.
At present, I'm offering two different types of groups for IFS and IFS-Informed Therapists and Practitioners:
In this group, we'll be focusing on a specific topic related to working with food and body concerns each week. These topic include:
This group meets once per month for 90 minutes for a total of six months. The total cost is $349 (payment plans are available).
This group is specifically for those individuals who are currently utilizing IFS in their work with clients struggling with food and body concerns. In this group, we'll be focusing on your cases--and the parts within your system with who you may be blended.
My hope for these groups is always to have a rich discussion about cases while noticing the parts within us that emerge. Participants in this group must have active caseloads.
This group meets monthly for 90 minutes for a total of four months. The total cost is $239 (payment plans are available).
I take the role of consultant very seriously and want you to have a helpful, informative, comfortable training experience. (And I also want you to have fun!) Though each participant will come to the group with a different skillset and different goals, there are a few intentions for the group that we can probably all agree on. Your consultation group will strive toward helping you:
You'll be taken to a google form where you'll be asked about your training and experience with IFS. You'll also have the opportunity to indicate what days/times work well for you. I launch new groups when I have enough people who are at similar levels and have the same availability.
I'm Kim Daniels (she/her/hers), and I'm a Clinical Psychologist, Certified Level 2 trained IFS Therapist, Certified Intuitive Eating Counselor, Emotional Eating Coach, and host of the "Emotional Eating (and Everything Else) Podcast" who's been working with womxn who struggle with eating and body image issues for over 20 years.
I'll be honest: over the years, I've made a LOT of mistakes. Early in my career, I specifically helped clients work toward weight loss. Not surprisingly, it wasn't helpful, both physically and emotionally.
Now, I use IFS and Intuitive Eating to help my clients truly heal their relationships with food and their bodies. I help therapists do the same so that they can be present, compassionate, and supportive to their clients who are struggling.
