Welcome to the Violin Progress with Shiva!
When practicing alone is no longer enough
You practice.
You repeat the same passages.
You listen carefully.
But at some point, you are no longer sure what to fix
or whether you are even working on the right thing.
Violin Progress with SHIVA was created for exactly this moment.
This is not a place for more information
This is not a space to collect more exercises, more ideas, or more things to think about.
It is a place to:
clarify what is actually happening in your playing
identify the issues that truly matter
move forward with clear direction instead of guesswork
Often, what is needed is not a large amount of advice, but one precise adjustment.
However, finding that adjustment alone is rarely easy.
What happens inside the group
Violin Progress with SHIVA is a small, private Telegram group.
Here, we work from the outside in observing what may no longer be clear from within your own playing.
Inside the group you will receive:
professional feedback on recordings or questions
help identifying what is not working and why
clear direction for your practice
the opportunity to learn from feedback given to others
The focus is not on information overload, but on clarity and real progress.
Questions and feedback structure
Submitting questions or recordings
During your participation, each member may send
up to 5 questions or recordings per week.
This structure encourages focus.
Rather than sending everything at once, you are invited to choose what is most important.
Clear selection leads to clearer feedback and more meaningful progress.
How feedback is provided
Feedback is given on:
Monday, Wednesday, and Friday (CET)
On each feedback day, we review all submitted material and select, for each member, the point that will most effectively move their playing forward.
We then provide:
one focused feedback per person on each feedback day
This means that on each response day, every member receives one carefully chosen, clear and practical response.
Feedback is shared within the group, allowing all members to learn not only from their own material, but from observing others.
Our feedback philosophy
The goal is not to answer everything at once.
Instead, we identify what matters most right now.
One clear direction is often more valuable than many scattered corrections.
This structure allows feedback to remain calm, precise, and sustainable, without rushing or overload.
Who this group is for
This space is for violinists who:
practice regularly but feel unsure about progress
sense that something is not working, but cannot identify what
feel tired of random trial and error
want an experienced outside ear
Repertoire and level are not important.
What matters is simple:
you have reached a point where practicing alone no longer gives clear answers.
Why this cannot be replaced by videos or articles
Many problems are not purely technical.
They are perceptual.
After listening to your own playing for long enough, it becomes difficult to hear clearly what is actually happening.
You need an outside ear to say, calmly and precisely:
This is fine.
This is the real issue.
Change this, not that.
This is exactly what happens inside this group.
Individual Zoom sessions
During the 30-day period, we also hold two Zoom sessions
(approximately once every two weeks).
In these sessions, each member will have approximately 15 minutes to speak directly with SHIVA.
During this time, you may:
ask questions about your playing or practice
discuss current difficulties
clarify what to focus on next
receive direct explanation or short demonstrations when helpful
These sessions are separate from the group feedback and are intended as a calm, focused moment of direct exchange.
They allow us to look more closely at your situation, clarify direction, and support your progress in a more personal way.
